It will be the Redbirds traveling to take on the Jays in a 3 game set. I would love nothing more than to take home a win and would be ecstatic if we actually could take the series. Our game one starter pitches pretty well with a 2.70 ERA but is 1-4 because of lack of run support. He needs some :helpsmilie:

It should be interesting to see how our two freshmen starters do as well. One person I do not hope to see on the mound is Dan Frega. He is (probably now it's "was") our best pro prospect, but just can't get it done at the college level. He has the physical stuff, but he isn't mentally tough yet. If he comes in in relief, I could see the Jays rocking him for 4-5 runs.

Best of luck to both teams, but here's hoping that the Birds can come out of there with at least one win.

As I typed this, looks like the coaches got together and said "Let's Play Two"..as in tomorrow...game is postponed. Seems like showers in Omaha.

Congrats to CU...you really kicked the crap out of us the first two games. To keep our head above water in the race for a tourney bid, we definitely need to win this game tomorrow. CU has a fantastic team though, which will make it very tough.

Remember, a 5th-place finish might be required this year to make the Tournament, since WSU is guaranteed a bid....

You do make a good point Mikovio. I think if that happened where WSU got an auto-bid that there would be much hell given to the Valley office. You wouldn't think WSU would ever be in that position. However, I think they will turn it around. Unfortunately, they usually sweep us.

In other news, we are up 8-2 on CU and Berger has pitched a decent game so far. He can hopefully go 7 for us and keep the Jays at bay. Knowing how the Jays can score though, I would like to see some more runs scored by us and stretch the lead even further.

Birds gave up 3 runs but then answered back with 2 to make it 10-5. Like I said, CU can score a lot and we need to make sure we have a built-enough lead to weather a comeback.
