Sycamores playing in the NIT? AND Waltman's future? Me thinks the new AD should get a clue.

Indiana States season is over sorry. It is a sad story with Moss being hurt. there is zero chance INSU will be taken over teams like Penn State,Northwestern Depaul etc.... NIT is about Money and big markets get the bids.

In the past it has been about money. However, this year the NCAA actually has a committee of former coaches such as Dean Smith, ADs, etc that are selecting the teams. This is a change from the past where the NIT actually selected. They are also looking at RPI, SOS, the injury factor, and other factors similiar to the NCAA committee, and they will also be seeding the tournament awarding home games to the higher seed. They are also required to take regular season conference champs that aren't selected to the NCAA. ISU would benefit from conference champs winning their post season tournaments. It will be interesting to see if these changes actually make a difference.

great points, but in the end it's still about the money.
just look at the nit brackets when they are released and see who gets home games.
it's harder for a mid-major team to make noise in the nit than the ncaa tournament because you let syracuse or vanderbilt or stanford play three home games and those are the teams that will advance.

Either Waltman is already gone and doesn't know it yet, or Prettyman is an idiot.
Stuff like this in public media absolutely KILLS a coaches ability to recruit.
If Waltman is back next year there is no amount of PR that can "undo" this. Any coach recruiting against Waltman just points out that Waltman's job is on the line and the recruiting edge goes away from InSt.

Also, did you read the article in the Trib. where Royce tells the reporter that they would of won more games if we had a bigger crowd? Seems like he has a excuse for everything. Post game interviews will have Royce saying, 'we can't shoot, we can't rebound, we can't defend" Well Royce, you recruited them, you tell us why.
