Alright lets get it started.

These teams have played a double ot game and a 1 point thriller. Does anybody really expext anything other than a nail biter?

Neither team is deep and both will play on somewhat tired legs. The team who wants it more will win this.

I will make no prediction other than this one being close.

If UNI plays like they did last night, it's UNI.

I like UNI, 64-58.

Great move by mac to switch Jacobsen to the PG and McKowen to the SG. Takes pressure off of both of them!!

My only prediction is Benny will do plenty of whining to the officials.

everything says this one is going to be a classic.

i wouldn't be surprised if it's won with another last-season shot.

Good game is expected--tough call on the winner. SIU playing for its tournament life--UNI looking to build momentum following a late-season swoon. Salukis cleaned the glass against Evansville, but the Panthers are not the Aces! How will the game be called? At times, I thought the UNI-MSU game resembled a Gateway Conference tilt! If it comes down to foul shooting, I like the Panthers, although I like SIU's defensive intensity over the course of a game. All things being equal, I say Northern Iowa to win 55-51, but I wouldn't be shocked to see the scoreline reversed.

To me it comes down to how the refs call the game. SIU plays pretty rough defense, so if the refs are call happy, UNI has an advantage. If they let the kids play, I would say SIU has the advantage.

It's gonna be a great game. Im gonna say SIU wins by a point, maybe 2.

UNI up 13-9 at 8 minute mark. Both teams playing great defense. Very good game so far!:)

19-18 UNI just under two to play in the first half. Refs are calling it really close, not good for SIU.

Classic? Let's see, we have a slumping NIU team devoid of athletes and a typical SIU-C (not Edwardsville) team devoid of basketball players. Classic indeed, in every sense of word (if you enjoy watching bowel movements).

Dear Lord, please give us NIU in the Finals against Bradley so they can get absolutely hammered on national television helping to promote the MVC as a league with Bradley-type teams. Dear Lord, we have suffered for our sins enough by having to endure the pain and agony that is game with SIU-C (not Edwardsville) added to the equation. I am quite certain that SIU-C's (not Edwardsvile's) "lock-down" defense would give Bradley a lot more trouble than NIU's, but we simply cannot afford to nationally promote the infectious disease-of-a-product that is Southern Illinois University at Carbondale Basketball. We need a nice 85-65 style game on Sunday, not a 55-45. Amen.

The more I think about Bradley getting into the finals the happier I get. Bradley, as well as WSU and Creighton are the "new face" of Valley Basketball. A "new face" that rings of "old-school" Valley Basketball where the ballers AND shooters were plenty!

It's a great year to be a Shocker!

Mr. Cold, what you've just wrote is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Well, after playing well in the second half yesterday, we are playing like the team that lost it's last 4 conference games. You can't shoot 28% and expect to win. The only thing keeping us in the game right now is Erik Crawford and SIU's foul issues. We were in the bonus at the 8 minute mark and only shot 2 free throws from that point on. Just go give SIU some props Tatum is a baller. Where would they be without that guy!

The second half will be better to watch. Hopefully.......

Well, I'm certainly not watching the game but it sounds like a typical SIU-C (not Edwardsville) game.

NIU Nation, if your team cannot find the cure for the Carbondale Clap today just remember that you will have contributed to killing what could have been a great display game for national television on Sunday.

SIU-C is like that crazy old uncle that you have to keep hidden at family reunions. We must stifle the product that exudes out of the great city of Carbondump.

Foul away Salukis, foul away!

I think I've made it pretty clear who I want in the finals. Yes, we are headed back to Wichita to rest up for our upcoming NCAA tournament. How are your NCAA tournament prospects looking?

P.S. Did you know you are the only team in the top 126 RPI that has a Division 2 loss? Did you also know that only you and powerhouse Ill.-Chicago of the mighty Horizon league are the only two teams with Division 2 losses in the top 157 RPI teams? What happened to ugly-ball in Alaska dawg fans... what happened?

I just said the same thing over at ST. What a joke that was. They quit going to him in the last game we played at our place and we won. Bad coaching decision there in my mind.

Coelman is UNI's only real go-to scoring option in the halfcourt, and the Panthers get creamed on the defensive glass without him in the game. How many times has UNI looked helpless on the offensive end in late-game situations? How many times have they given up big offensive rebounds without Coleman in the game? I would have thought that Bucknell, the 2nd SIU game, or the Missouri State game would have made this obvious. I guess not...

Well, this is certainly bad news. The MVC has been given break after merciful break all season long contributing to renewed interest in this league. Another break was either WSU or BU making it to the "national" game. Now SIU-C slithers in there... I guess our luck had to run out sometime. Can you believe it took until overtime for the Carbondale Clown-sponsored game today to break 40 points? Embarrassing.

Can you imagine how devastating it will be for Bradley and the MVC if SIU-C (not Edwardsville) somehow manages to disrupt Bradley's flow to the point that Bradley loses and ends up in the NIT while SIU-C (not Edwardsville) takes their spot in the NCAA's? Can you imagine how embarrassing it will be to have the only team in the top 130 RPI to have lost to a Division 2 team winning the Valley Tournament?

Well, at least my schedule opens up a little bit considering I couldn't be paid to watch the game tomorrow.

Glad to see it didnt take Cold long to return to his childish ways..grow up would ya we all know how jealous you are of SIU, it was so nice when valleytalk was down not to have to deal with his childish ways but oh well we are playing in the finals while once again WSU is going home. It's a shame really alot of real WSU fans were on salukitalk while valleytalk was down and were very nice to bad this clown has to ruin it for the rest of them. Any chance that cold and the bullseye clown are brothers or cousins cause they both are embarassements to the rest of their fans

Tony Young on playing defense after his game winning lay-up:

"I was just thinking, if the ref calls a foul, I'm going to blow up somebody's car."

Interesting quote. You would think the Saluki's have grown accustomed to the whistle by now?

P.S. That sounds like a direct threat towards an official.. hmm..
