we'd appreciate if you'd refer to us as either UWM (no hyphen) or just Milwaukee. i know you probably weren't aware of this but we're doing what we can to drop the hyphen.

You gotta take that up with the EU and NIU guys!

Congrats to UWM. Should help them greatly. Hopefully, Uzoh is the Shox man because the list of candidates is dwindling.

I know that we really could use a PG (although it's looking like good combos are all that's left) this year to give a couple years experience before Matt graduates and to back him up if he should get injured. But I'm pretty much to the point (if we don't get Uzoh, which I truthfully think is a long shot) that we should just hold the scholly for next year...especially if Spinelli is truely coming to WSU.

I agree 13. If we cannot get Uzoh, maybe Turg and Co. should just hold it until next year. As of now, we will have to replace Wilson, K-Brad, and Ryan Martin for 2007-08. The Shox already have Graham Hatch (6'2ish guard from Az.) who has been on a two year mormon mission and will be here in 07-08. Shox will have 3 schollies to use for the 07-08 year.

That stinks for Bradley. BU wanted that kid this spring. I see the Braves ending up with former Ohio U. guard Jeremy Fears. He will have to sit out a year.
With having lost out on so many recruits this spring maybe Les and Co. should focus on 2007-08. Toss away next year and build for the future. Its tough to get good players for next year this late.
If BU adds Fears and DeAaron Williams thats too good players for TWO years from now.

Most of the focus right now for the staff is on next year's class, as I understand it. Losing Sikes was big, Gentry not so much. It's the frontcourt that will be hurting next year (assuming POB leaves), not the back....

I would disagree a little. Bradley loses its top three-point shooter (Sommerville) and its top perimeter scoring guard (Bennett). They have the two PG's coming back (Franklin and Ruffin) and a non-scorer in Tuaui. Someone needs to be able to make some shots from the outside. Also, size is a bit of an issue.
I didn't see enough of Ray Brown to think he will be a major factor and Jeremy Crouch fell off the radar.
I just don't have any idea how Bradley will score next year. There isn't a proven scorer who played at all last year. We could be looking at a lot of 54-50 games. Losing Gentry still hurts because the Braves offered him.

I think Zach Andrews has the potential to be a VERY good player for BU next year, along with Ruffin.

I think your labeling of Tauai as a "non-scorer" is a bit unfair. He didn't score much last year, but that's in part because he didn't have to and it wasn't expected of him.
Remember, he was our best 3-point shooter by far last year. Tauai will be expected to shoulder more of the scoring load next year, and I think he'll be up to the task. He, Ruffin and Franklin aren't a bad backcourt combination.
Are you writing off Danny Adams altogether?
Ray Brown is an unknown quantity, but I like his attitude and work ethic. I'll be very surprised if Crouch's sophomore slump extends into his junior season, but it's possible.
Gentry could easily have been helping us in years down the line. I just don't think he would have stepped in next year and taken a lot of minutes away from our experienced backcourt.

You are banking on quite a bit of things happening there...things that don't happen very often in college basketball.
My point. Yes, TECHNICALLY JJ Tuaui was Bradley's best three point shooter. Of course, that was 5-11 all year, with three coming in one game. For his career JJ is 22-83 from three point territory (26.5%). He's just a 31.7% shooter overall for his career and has scored 196 points in 87 games (2.3 ppg). I think that qualifies him as a non-scorer.
Heck, if he scored the same amount of points his senior year as he did his first three years combined thats only 6.5 ppg. Very, very rarely do you see guys go from averaging 2.0 ppg to 10.0 ppg. It just doesnt happen.
Same goes for Ray Brown. He never played. A realisitic progression would be for him to average 6-7 ppg. That would be an exceptional leap for a guy who played in basically half the games. Working hard and having a good attitude doesnt make you a good player (sadly).
I like Jeremy Crouch but he fell out of favor bigtime. What makes one think he will get back in favor next year? He could be a big key, no doubt. If he returns to form hes a 9-10 ppg scorer. Of course, Im not 100% sure he will be back on campus.
And yes, I am writing off Danny Adams. He averaged 1.7 ppg last year. Hes a walk-on. Good team player, hard worker, but not a good player.
It's cool to have hope but there are alot of what-ifs, I don't know's, and I hope's in there. I have a tough time putting a lot of faith in guys who haven't done it versus a league with guys who have.
Bradley needed Sikes. I'm sure Gentry would have helped, but the immediate need is down low. The last month has been disappointing regarding the recruiting for these last two scholarships.
Bradley has their work cut out for them in the offseason.

Very true BCG. I would like to see Bradley now take a couple of transfers (i.e. Williams and Fears). That would give a couple high level guys for 2007-08. Make it through next year and start with those two guys as a base.
