Best hitter on the team and the closer for the Shox to have potential season ending surgery. Damon is hitting .395 with 11 HR and 45 RBI's. He is also the teams closer notching 7 saves with 23 K's and 8 BB's in 11 1/3 IP. Could possibly be back in time for the postseason.

But let me clearly point out that we're not making excuses!!
Additionally, and rest assured......we will NOT be talking about injuries to key players 3 months after the season is over.

No doubt. This team is beyond the point that injuries (even if it is to one of the best players) should keep them down. High caliber teams have enough depth and heart to overcome these types of things. No excuse here. If the Shox don't perform, it is their play that is at fault, not the fact that Damon is out.

So he's not playing against Illinois State?????????????:innocent: Awww shucks, that's too bad!...In all seriousness though, I know how bad wrist surgery or any surgery can potentially be. Get better and ready for regionals.

It's a 2-6 week recovery after surgery. No, we won't inflict Damon "the Omen" on you this weekend.
But there are capable people waiting in the wings.
