Creighton has a ton of street cred with the Big Dance, and MSU has a healthy RPI.

Gott get 6.

SIU vs other bubble teams

2-0 vs Creighton
2-1 vs UNI
1-1 vs Mo State

I think this is a very telling Stat.

SIU gets in over MSU at this point IMO.

It would have to be the same with UNI you'd think, though UNI has better wins and more overall wins.

At this point, as a Bear fan, I'm sweating it out.

Teams not sweating getting in to sweating it in order:

Bradley/SIU winner
WSU
UNI
Bradley/SIU loser
MSU
CU

or does the Bradley/SIU loser jump UNI? discuss

I gotta give MSU a lot of credit. They went from #2 in the conference to #5/6 in less than 24 hours. I wonder if Barry's written some one-liners about it yet...

Until I see the two words "Wichita State" appear in a bracket next Sunday, I will not be comfortable. Nobody is guaranteed a bid except the winner of tomorrow's game.

Truer words have never been spoken. Well, that's not true if you count all the insults lobbed at Cold. ;)

nyghtwind is a paranoid mofo... i refuse to "sweat" out this when it is 7 damn days away. Bears will make it. last nights game did not screw up the bears chances. it only helped the valleys chances of increasing bids. you are one funny mofo dude. :D

WSU, CU, MSU, and NIU are in. Tomorrow's winner is in. You have CB's prediction, now take it to the bank.

I can't believe I'm about to type this, but I actually want one of Cold's predictions to come to pass. I need to check something real quick....Yep, just as I thought. Two inches of snow in hell. :D

SIU vs Creighton 2-0
SIU vs UNI 2-1

Both wins come over UNI in the last week. No chance that gets overlooked.
Creighton is in trouble my friends. I hope they get in but it is going to be close.

I don't see how you can leave Bradley out at this point. They are 8-2 in their last 10 games, have won 7 in a row now including 11 of 13. Two of their early road losses were without Patrick O'Bryant in the line-up which I'm sure the tourney committee will be aware of. They have passed up CU for sure, and may be taken over someone else.

Did anyone see PTI yesterday? They played the Psychic game, and the caller asked "Will the Missouri Valley get 6 bids this year?" Kornheiser quickly responded with "HA!" As much as it pissed me off, we all know it's the truth....

If we're going to get 6, then what's happened so far is exactly what needed to happen....

Could you just hear the howls from Tobacco Road to the Bay Area if the MVC got 6 in the mix (I sorta like how that rhymes)? I still think 4 get in. The only sure things are Wichita State and Sunday's winner. I think the Sunday loser and Creighton will be passed over or made to sweat. Bad news for Creighton is that Xavier lost to Rhode Island today. Good news is that they host the A-10 tournament next week. Bradley got a boost from Butler in the Horizon League tournament in Milwaukee. If the Braves lose Sunday and get left off the board next week, it would be a shame. When this team was 8-6, many Braves fans were just hoping to stay in NIT contention. Now they are 20-9, and post-season play in the NIT would seem like a disappointment .

Murray State helped out SIU today also.

Four might be the # but I just can't see any way SIU and Bradley are not 2 of them.

SIU has beat them twice in one week, wouldn't that mean you probably take SIU over UNI?
tourn teams go as follows WSU, MSU (why would a 20win, top 20rpi be left out) BU, SIU, and if a fifth team goes (and it should be 5!!!)then UNI. CU will get the NIT bid.

Are you serious about CU?? Man...even you're more optimistic than me and I'm a huge fan of the team...

Unless Southern Illinois wins on Sunday, I do not think they are ahead of UNI in picking order. They may have one more win on us (Creighton has two, but does that put them ahead of us?), but we have more wins, higher RPI, better wins, and more wins against top 50 opponents.

To me, the order is as follows:

-Tomorrow's winner
-WSU
-UNI
-MSU
-Tomorrow's loser/Creighton
-Tomorrow's loser/Creighton

After today's games this is the way I see the pecking order:

1. SIU-Tournament Champ
2. WSU
3. UNI
4. BU (if they lose on Sunday)
5. MSU
6. CU

or if BU wins:
1. BU
2. WSU
3. UNI
4. MSU
5. SIU
6. CU

What's interesting is that all 6 teams have better resumes than UNI did last year, and UNI made it in.

I still think after all the conferences finish (there will be some upsets) the Valley will probably end up with 4 bids.

I would love to see 5 or 6, but 4 bids is probably more realistic.

siu is in right now. book it, cold.
don't think the committee is oblivious to what siu has done over the last four years.

I am in agreement with cincyshocker. I can see the committee somehow leaving WSU out in the cold. Then they would take UNI, BU, SIU and MO State. But if that happens the NCAA will remember WSU because there will be about 300,000 fans beating down their doors wanting answers.......

But I will be optimistic and say WSU, UNI, SIU, BU.

We deserve 6, fact is we have 6 teams who are top 65 teams in the nation, we have 6 teams who are top 40 in the nation, we will prove it in the ncaas, let us all in and let us prove it.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but ...

SIU vs. D2....0-1

No chance that gets overlooked. That's going to add about +20 to SIU's RPI since D2 games aren't included in RPI numbers.

BU is in.

SIU needs one more win, which would give SIU the Valley's automatic bid.

WSU, MSU, UNI, BU = in
CU = last 4 in/last 4 out
SIU = needs automatic bid

I do have one question. For those who want the committee to look at the past, like what CU and SIU have done, you contradict yourselves IF you talk about how Kentucky, 'Zona, etc. should not get in on their past history. I'm not saying that everyone talking about history does this, but I'm sure it's a common fallacy made.
