MSU looking better today, ripping the Jays 6-0 in the 7th.

Whoops, fat pitch hit into the left field bullpen.....now it's 8-0.

Honestly, don't have a clue but I am sure it was less than any Shocker home game rain or shine. All I care about is getting wins and today was an offensive explosion for our team with 14 hits, 2 hrs, and scoring 8 runs. The bad part is these days are few and far between for this team or any team since our 2003 team.

I asked because I watched the game on TV and you could see thousands of empty seats.

Looked like they would be lucky to reach 1,000 today in attendance.

It seems to me that when you only have one regular season game on FSN this year that you do your best to fill the stands.

Free tickets, Free pizza, Free beer whatever it takes to at least have a half full stadium for the regional TV audience.

It certainly doesn't make our conference look very good. :valley:

No one in this league is doing anything to make the conference look good.

The Valley is a piece of s**t this year.

I think there were about 850 rabit SWOMOSTU fans in the stands today.

Our SID department is terrible and I have complained for years about not doing enough to promote MO State athletics to area schools. I would have given away hundreds of tickets to local and area high school and junior highs to get people there...not only for this game but every single game all year. We eat more tickets for our sports than probably any other university our size and it will never make any sense to me because even you give away a ticket the people are going to drink, eat, maybe buy stuff in gift shop, and MAYBE come back as a paying customer next time.

I know you guys always joke about rent not being paid but even though not that many people are coming to the games actual season ticket sales usually pay the rent pretty easy. We only need to sell 1000 (1340 last year) season tickets to pay the $150,000 rent and that doesn't include any corporate boxes that are much more expensive.

I don't think all the blame should go down on your media relations dept. A lot of the promotions and everything run through marketing. Also, when you're 13-10 at home, that's a lot of losses. Some fans will only come out if you win a large majority of your home games.

It still comes down to knowing there is actually a game to come out to and you are correct I should have included our entire sports marketing department. They all are to blame...our website is one of the worst in the league, our live stats for any sport is hard to look at, nobody can stand the new Missouri State uniforms, we have various shades of maroon on various uniforms and fan gear, etc.

I find it interesting that *those* are the problems when we have the worst do-nothing AD in the league that doesn't show any interest in winning anything. As long as that remains the same, none of the above really matters.

150 thousand dollars rent!!!!???? Good Lord! That could go a long way towards covering the debt service on loans/bonds to build your own stadium.

We may have to look into that if we keep playing the way we have the last few seasons
