Meanwhile, another MU player, sophomore forward Ryan Amoroso, met his academic requirements for the school year, thus clearing the way for his transfer.
He has been granted his release to the following schools: Butler, Illinois State, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, Northern Iowa and Division II Southern Indiana.
The 6-foot-8, 242-pounder from Burnsville, Minn., fell out of favor late in the season and was sent home before the Golden Eagles' trip to San Diego for the NCAA tournament in March.
He started the season with a flourish, scoring 30 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in MU's overtime victory over South Carolina in the championship game of the Great Alaska Shootout in November, but never came close to matching those numbers in a game again.
Amoroso was held out of a game Feb. 1 because of an undisclosed medical condition then played in five of MU's final eight games, tallying just 32 minutes, five points and eight rebounds.
Assuming he transfers to a Division I school, Amoroso will have to sit out next season per NCAA regulations.
