Valparaiso has announced it is moving from the Mid Con to the Horizon League after next season. Seems to be a good move for both the school and the Horizon. I wondered why Valpo stayed in the Mid Con when all the other schools bolted for the MCC/Horizon after UE and Xavier left? They seemed to have the better program at the time than all the others who went.

I have to give the Horizon League credit. Ten years ago, I was in the camp of those saying the league would fold after UE, Xavier, and Dayton bolted for greener pastures.

But, the conference has hung around and while it's not of the same calibre it was in the early 1990s, it still has some name recognition and has been a multiple bid conference at times.

Adding Valpo only strengthens the league's credibility.

milwaukee, led by former bradley standout joah tucker (cough, cough), really gave the horizon a boost the last two years with its ncaa showings.

This makes miles of sense for Valpo, literally. MidCon has teams all over the place - Southern Utah, ORU, Centennary. Horizon is in the midwest only and this seems to be a good addition for the conference as well.

Joey, just remember that Joah didn't like his time at Bradley, that's half the reason why he left in the first place.

he might not have liked it in peoria, but i saw the dude play while he was there ... he wasn't any good. obviously, he was better than he showed at bradley but i thought he was a waste of scholarship.
then i see him lighting up everybody while playing at milwaukee.
makes you wonder what went on bradley.

Joey...Joah was a freshman at Bradley. He had some nice games, and some bad games. I try not to judge players based on some up and down freshman games.

Heck, I know Bryan Mullins is a pretty good player. But if I only went on a couple of random games one would argue he wasn't a DI caliber player. But, I don't do that ;)

CU opens with Valpo in the RAINBOW tourney.

Sidenote: CU could face NU twice next year. They are on oppo sides of Rainbow bracket.
