WIU to Great West? A little info please

My post is related to Western Illinois. How do the gateway members feel about them. Are they a competive team? What about facility wise. The reason why I ask is that apparently there is a clause in the NCAA by laws....well I am not going to explain it but if WIU where to join the Great West, that conference would become auto-bid eligible in 2009. (according to AGS) If thats the case, NDSU, SDSU, SUU (UND and USD in 2009) which are members of the Great west and mid con will put some heavy pressure to make this happen. The Mid-con and great west are much like the Valley and Gateway as they are headquarted out of the same office.

Would the Gateway be upset about losing WIU, would they encourage it? Furthermore, would this cause Valley and Gateway leadership to put pressure on the Shockers in regards to starting a football program up again?

Ahh you are talking about MLPSBison's post. He comes up with weird stuff to make the Great West better. WIU isnt going to leave the Gateway unless the Mid-Con forces them to, which I dont see happening.

agreed, WIU will not leave the gateway, they'd be stupid to. the Gateway is far superior to the great west in my opinion.

and also, the dakota schools are not even members of the mid con yet anyway, and und won't be D-I for a couple more years, and usd is only studying what they will do next (stay in D-II or move up)
