Just joking.
The rumor I heard was Central Connecticut State.:chair: :chair:

You're barking up the wrong tree in a year there is a home and home signed with Indiana and SIU is also playing Arkansas and likely either (Minnesota, Va Tech or West Virginia) on a neutral court.
In addition to home dates with SLU and Murry State and road dates at postseason type clubs Western Kentucky and La Tech.
SIU's schedules have been amongst the best in this league for a decade.

thank you!
while the indiana game is nice and the orlando tournament is nice, i'm not idiot enough to tout louisiana tech and western kentucky in hopes of showing how good our schedule is.
was just having some fun with the uconn crack. and, i was tired of reading about wichita so i thought i'd steer the conversation to siu for a thread.

You'r right, playing a home and home series with Western Kentucky is no good. Get a clue when it comes to scheduling.
I forgot, which MVC school received an at large berth four consecutive years (forgive me for living in the past)? You don't do that with bad scheduling, or even mediocre scheduling.

A home-and-home with WKy looks like very good scheduling. Last year WKy was 22-7, RPI 54, OOC SoS 28. That's a great winnable road game. It's games like that (when BCS schools are playing cupcakes at home) that helps the Valley's RPI.
Could be some added fan interest because of the regional nature of the game. Fan interest for home games is crucial. It's hard for fans to get excited about a lot of home games Valley teams can schedule.
Could even be some fans from WKy show up, although the way to get from Bowling Green to Carbondale isn't exactly a straight shot.

I'd do a 1 and done with Duke at Cameron Indoor. Might not seem fair at first, but a win or strong showing even would do great things. Also a return game against WVU I was almost expecting. Maybe in 2007.
And whatever happened to Maryland's tour of the valley? Williams is such a poosy.

Western Ken is a good program and consider them a great team to add to our scheule. La tech maybe not so much.

i'm with ya on western kentucky. really didn't mean to slight the hilltoppers. they just aren't sexy enough for me.
i still can't believe we lost to that band of thugs from louisiana state last year ... and AT HOME. yikes.

It doesn't matter how sexy they are. As long as they have a good RPI and are a quality team.

La tech maybe not so much.
La Tech will be down somewhat, but they were 19-12 last season with a very respectable RPI of 68.
