As a follow-up to this comment, "After all this stuff is said and done I am pretty sure 90% of all of us Valley fans want you to win both", I am wondering...
Who among you will be celebrating a WSU loss to LSU and/or Syracuse??
Yes, I will celebrate the WSU loss
No, I am too smart to celebrate a loss
This will also be an indication as to how many of you have gotten so emotional over this issue that you are losing your perspective.

I voted the way everyone should vote. Not like I expect unanimity on, though....
Great idea, ISASO.

I will root for WSU to spank both LSU and Cuse - and every other non-conference foe.

Considering you were hood winked over the EADA for FOUR YEARS, perhaps you are not the brightest bulb on the tree and should refrain from calling others stupid and dumb.

Will Syracuse storm the court if they win?

Yogi, Depaul does not play Cu this year. Check your facts, its next year.

I think you should have started the thread, "who would celebrate a WSU loss.. instead of "will". Don't want to jinx us yet, baby!

Mr. Magoo,
I don't really care when CU plays Depaul. 12-15 programs don't excite me.

And Kennesaw St, UMKC, and Chicago St does?
:fear:
I don't think the argument is that which opponent sucks worse than the other. I think the point he was trying to make was everyone schedules in the cupcakes, whether they like it or not. Normally, DePaul is not a cupcake, and they still aren't really. Teams like Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Norfolk State however do qualify.
Once again this proves even in both sides of the scheduling debate each schedules its fair share of cupcakes.

:fear:
Kennesaw St is a forced game for a tourney. Getting teams like tha off the schedule and getting into better tourneys is a goal.
UMKC is an educational mission to teach northeast Kansas that Wichita State and the MVC exist. Hasn't worked too well. All the KC-area players worth recruiting who don't get offers from KU get all whiny and pouty and then go sign with somebody like Wake Forest so they can play in a "real" league.
Progress is being made. Before the Turgeon era the only mention WSU got in KC or Topeka was in 4-pt. type under "Other area scores". The MVC was unknown. CU got Isaac Miles out of KC, so maybe the WSU educational mission is bearing some fruit for the Valley.
WSU basketball is now on a "power AM" with huge reach out of Topeka. The KC Star regularly has articles about WSU and the Valley. A radio sports talk show in KC gives considerable discussion time to WSU.
Chicago St looks like the dreaded buy game that teams use as a glorified scrimmage that counts in the W/L column.

Gosh, thanks so much for helping little ol CU out with the recruiting. Yep, the Jays have never recruited there before.
Man, Aargh, that statement qualifies for the dumbest of the month.

Touchy, touchy. It is amazing how nasty you guys can get when someone doesn't agree with you. I am entitled to my opinion, just as you are. You think my posts are "stupid", I think the majority (not all) of the WSU posters on this site are overly-defensive and resort to childish skirmishing and personal attacks when someone *dares* to challenge THEIR opinions. Last time I checked, this was a site devoted to MVC basketball, not just Wichita St. Because of that fact, you are going to get a difference of opinion when it comes to certain topics...
I think WSU made a bad move when it comes to scheduling Syracuse. This is MY opinion, I don't care if you agree with it or not. Flame me, put me on ignore, whatever. It is just more proof that many of the WSU posters only want to hear the reflections of their own rhetoric.

While I agree with you that a few WSU fans can go over the top (myself included), it is noted that every fanbase has them.
I may suggest that the "ignore" button works both ways. And if you don't wanna see the WSU content on the site, simply "ignore" it.

Agreed. Honestly, I would never even consider using the ignore button. While I think someone like Cold is an annoying troll, his posts are still amusing and once in a blue moon he actually will make a valid point...That doesn't mean I am going to filter out his posts just because of it. Everyone has their own opinions, everyone on here is passionate about their team, sometimes we just disagree. By filtering out other people's opinions, it sort of defeats the purpose of having a "melting pot" message board like ValleyTalk. For example, while I don't agree with the Syracuse game, I can see to a certain extent where the defenders are coming from. It is just a clash of two different mindsets about how to raise the prestige of one's program. The only problem is, these clashes always seem to lead to CU bashing Wichita because its smaller than Omaha or WSU bashing CU because the "Qwiet Center" is "rented." Then all hell breaks loose...
Yeah, I am tired of it.

Chinks in the armor. Maybe there's hope for you after all rasp. Is it just the Sabbath doing this to you, or is this a sign that you are going to be a bit more moderate? Never mind, I'll be watching what you post and find out for myself.
Again, I was happy with the news about the Shockers adding Syracuse, but not ecstatic. For about the fourth time in this thread, I will point out that I am on record as saying that I don't want to see this become a habit. I believe that Coach Turgeon and Schaus were up against a deadline to get a schedule put together. They didn't want any more South Side Chicago States or Kennesaw Mountain Landis U's on the schedule. They added two challenging opponents this week, to test this team early in the season.
I can live with that, under the circumstances.

I have always, in the past, been proud to call myself a Valley fan. Maybe I'm too far removed from all this but someone PLEASE tell me why ANY Valley fan would "celebrate" a loss by ANY Valley school to an outside opponent. I don't see the downside of a Valley school (whether it be WSU, CU, SIU or ISU) winning a non-conference game against a ranked opponent. It can only be good for the entire Valley RPI. Am I to assume there are those so narrow-minded (and filled with undisguished hatred) for other Valley teams that they cannot put aside this abject dislike -- all for the Valley's good. If this "poll" turns out to be in favor of celebrating WSU's loss to two ranked non-conference BCS opponents, then I am going to be ashamed to call myself a Valley fan. I have never and will never hope a Valley teams loses to an outside opponent -- yes, even CU.

Great point. Wish I would have thought of that angle...
I think a few voted to celebrate, win or lose, because they took the risk of playing those games and realize that it's a win-win for WSU no matter what, really.
Aside from that, could the over-emotional state of our brethern be affecting their judgement?

I voted in WSU'a favor and I will always root for any MVC school against a non-con foe. The poll itself is pretty silly and I hope that those who voted the other way misread the question...

Quit picking on my I.T. Department.
He will feel compelled to respond and the time could be better used to address some of my I.T. problems.
