Take your pick. DeanSIU brought this up a bit ago and I just couldn't believe others would agree but a poll seemed to be the best option.
Vote away.

I respect Dean's opinions but I disagree with him on this subject.

With St. Marys, you play a team you can beat(and have beaten), and a team that will hopefully beat Gonzaga once in the regular season and hopefully win the WCC tournament, as they did in 2005.
So I agree with Dean.
The "1" vote for St. Mary's lets me know that the funding was finally approved to get computers in the mental institution.

Playing only teams that you should beat is a good way to regress.

Dumb poll. Everyone with a brain would take LSU. A better poll would be St. Mary's one for one vs. Syracuse one and done. That could get interesting.

What I didn't get across in my post, my point was the 1 and 1 for St. Marys was probably better for SIU than a 3 game vs LSU.
We start out against an SEC team, with the possibility of playing West Virginia, Minnesota, or Virginia Tech, and then Indiana as well...I guess, if we do well in Orlando, we will have likely faced 3 BCS teams already with a guranteed 4th against Indiana.
Granted, my own logic on this doesnt seem quite logical, but different strokes for different folks, in this case Turgeon and Lowery.

why in the world would you turn down a series in which you were guarunteed in 3 consecutive years to play an SEC power, not a bottom dweller, an SEC power. I certainly wouldn't.

The poll was based on a statement by Dean SIU in the St Mary's thread, where he said he'd rather have the 1 and 1 with SM than the 1-1-1 with LSU.
So WuDrWu wanted to see how many people were hung up on the notion of a strict one-and-one.

The overall point here is SIU doesn't have to do a one and done this year. They have a schedule that sets up very nicely in all facets of scheduling this year.

I said my logic was illogical. Dont try to psycoanalyze something I said when I dont evenunderstand why I said what I said in the first place. It's counter productive.

What are you arguing with me about? We have pretty much agreed on everything.

So, on this point at least, Dean SIU is an idiot. Did Wu need to statr an inane survey to prove that?
