Interesting article on MVC attendance. The league is compared to bigger leagues and is another piece of evidence that the Valley is outgrowing its "mid-major" label.

Anyone think conference attendance might be down this year?
UNI and Bradley probably won't be as good. Will that hurt their attendance? Will the new arena overcome that for UNI?
WSU can't really increase attendance, but defintley isn't going down
CU should have another increase.
MSU?

I promise you that UNI will do their fair share with a brand-new 7,200-capacity arena being sold out every night. We'll be okay. Bradley should do all right too because those fans are there no matter what the team is doing.

Bradley also will have excitment coming off of a Sweet Sixteen, eventhough they lost a lot of that team, it will still have a positive impact.

Bradley's fans are always there. Last season was not that great until the very nice little run at the end. UNI will maintain. CU and WSU are ahead of last years ticket sales. Drake has no where to go but up. I'll bet the valley exceeds last years figures.:valley:

Illinois State should have a lot of upside.

I look for even more seats to be filled around Valley arenas. If indeed there are 2 (possibly 3) MVC spending time in the top 25 this season, then that will create even more interest knowing that you're school will be playing a ranked school. With UE, DU and ILS being on the way back up, think we can look for even more interest from each school's fans.
The MVC is on the way up on so many different levels right now it's fun to see all this happening. :bounceblue:

If you had to put a number on your teams attendence for this year what would it be?
I would guess Creighton at 15,500

SIU could be 27-0 and ranked No. 3 in the nation but only be averaging 6,400 fans a game because ...
1) Too many people go to church on Wednesday night.
2) It's deer season.
3) It's duck season.
4) It's goose season.
5) The bleachers at SIU Arena hurt their asses.
6) Nobody likes the concessions.
7-100) Yada, yada, yada.
All jokes aside, we'll average 6192 for the year.

WSU will average exactly 10,478. Maybe 10,479 if you count the fire marshall.

When, in actuality, between student guest sales and rebuys of returned student tickets and comps, that number will grow by a couple hundred each game.
