From Tom Shatel's column in the Omaha World Herald.

• ESPN will have a press teleconference today to announce the format for next season's "BracketBusters" series. Reportedly, 102 teams will take part this year.

102 teams is too many! It was a good idea out of the gate, but now the Bracketbuster just sucks.

Valley needs to ditch this thing now. It has become and RPI killer for most of the Valley teams involved.

How come teams from conferences that will only get 1 bid no matter what are participating? What bracket can they possibly bust except ours? You are right, this is a really bad tournament for the Valley to be in and we definitely need to make this our last year of participation in it.

Yep. There are too many teams involved which aren't going to get in unless they win their conference tourney by virture of their league's quality and their inability to have a good schedule. There's no purpose in playing them. It was a bad idea last year, and it's getting worse this year.

Next year all of Division I will be included in the field.

I don't think WSU can really complain about it's opponents so far for Bracketbuster.

Austin Peay - home (admittedly the weakest of the three)
Miami-Ohio - away (this program has been pretty good for a long time under Charlie Coles)
George Mason - home (who would've thought that they would be a Final-4? Down a notch or two this year though)

Since we've had difficulty luring bigger programs into Koch on a regular basis, especially this year, I hope we can grab another home BB game for this season.

I agree, but overall it is bad for the Valley.
