Lance Harris will be a walk-on. Wichita native, so the walkon at WSU was pretty natural.

I have no clue why a 21.7 ppg and 5.7 rpg 6'3" G didn't end up on a D1 schollie out of JuCo.

Linky thing (http://www.kansas.com/mld/kansas/sports/other_sports/15330224.htm)

2005-2006? Hmmm do you mean 2006 -2007? The Shockers should have the backcourt covered next season.

Where do we put him? We have Braeuer, KBradley, Ogirri, and Preadom returning. Mekel and D. Brown coming in and two more for next year. I guess he has only this year remaining? I still don't see much PT for him.

Nice to have a guy with that experience and that kind of on-court production helping out in practice.

Maybe he'll get some mop-up duty in the Syracuse game...

Why this kid didn't get a scholarship somewhere with those type of numbers and size is a bit strange. I was told that during HS Harris was a really, really skinny kid but a good shooter. That's all my sources really remember. Is everyone sure he will be a senior this year and not a junior? He did redshirt on year at the juco.

Yeah, he will be a Jr. Went to Butler County Juco for a year, redshirted a year, and went to Pittsburgh-Titusville JUCO for a year.

That's what I thought. Thanks.

He's a walk on. I don't think we/he should expect much PT, other than mop up duty. The same with D. Brown. Even without them two we have quite a bit in the backcourt. But both of those guys should be a good help in practice.

He probably won't be put anywhere except in the mix in 5 on 5's during practice.

And if he gets minutes during a game, bonus.

I don't know what level juco Pitt-Titusville is. But like in the NCAA, the NJCAA is broken down into Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3 schools. If Pitt-Titusville is a D-3, then his numbers don't mean much of anything. Drake signed a D-3 juco kid a few years ago who put up pretty big numbers in juco, but he clearly wasn't ready for D-1 ball.

Many, many JUCO kids put up numbers but cannot get a D1 ride because the coach is looking for the best basketball player he can get. Sometimes the best player has the skills, athleticism, and grades, but the team's style of play does not allow him to score too much.

Some of these walk ons are going to get a few minutes this year because we are going to beat the living hell out of several teams at home.

Very true, but thats not really saying a lot considering the quality of the teams coming to Wichita in the non-con.

If I'm not mistaken, that is exactly what I thought WuDr was alluding to.

Yet for some reason, Mr. Obvious, felt it necessary to regurgitate Wu's post.

This guys certainly cannot hurt. I know if he were coming to CU we'd be cautiously optimistic about him.
