Hey Bears fans,

Anybody making the trip down to Conway for the game?

Any predictions?

Nope, can't make it down for the game. I'm on a college student's budget, so money's a little tight.

No predictions here. Even after two games, we're still COMPLETELY clueless as to how good/bad our team is.

If you dont know about this bears team than you dont understand bears football.

We will finish anywhere from 4-7 to 6-5.

6-5 if we pay enough puds like sbu to run up our wins.

20 years of history doesnt lie.

20 years of history doesnt lie.

Neither does a team full of motivated seniors with a proven coaching staff.

Not saying that we're going to win the conference or even put up a winning record this season. Just understand that the Bears will be a winner again, either now or 3 years from now. Ask any UNI fan and they'll say the same thing.

The RB returning will keep this team away from some trainwreck like 2-9, but other than that, I don't have any clue. Carroll not coming back (and leaving notice like you'd expect from a guy of his stature) was a big blow.

Bear fans....don't sleep on this team. They feature a WR who's like 6' 6" who probably would have had a much better game if UCA had their starting QB.

Also, the defense has a very sold scheme. They don't make many adjustments, they don't blitz a lot. But when you've got a safety who's like 6' 4" roaming the secondary in a cover 2, you don't need to stray very often.

UCA will give MSU a handful, and they'll be pumped to play their first home game as a D-1AA team. I'm rooting for MSU, but don't rule out an upset if you guys take them lightly.

This whole "take them lightly" stuff is silliness. MSU isn't good. They'd be picked for last in the conference if it wasn't for the Trees. UCA may just be better than MSU, and they're playing at home. "Taking them lightly" doesn't have a thing to do with it.

Rooting for MSU, but after checking out the GFC games last week and seeing that UCA gave IL St. a battle on the road, I'm not overly confident in a MSU victory. :noexpression:

UCA came to our place this past Saturday hungry and well prepared. They play hard and are well coached. They have a strong program and certainly are not a pushover.

That being said, and Im not taking anything away from UCA here because they are a tough team with some real good athletes, but we didnt play well offensively. We shouldve been able to put up alot more than 18 on them but we were without Laurent Robinson, we played rather conservative all night, and we had alot of drops/tipped balls. That, and it was pouring rain from the 2nd quarter on so that hurt some of our team speed. Ill take the win any way I can get it of course, but we really didnt have a very good offensive effort (except for Pierre Rembert). Defensively however, we were outstanding all game long.

UCA is a solid team though. MSU should definately not look past them.

I hope it's a good game. I'm going down to Conway for it since the Hogs are on the road and I expect other Hog fans will do the same. Should be a nice crowd.

Whichever team wins, I expect a close game.

MSU loses 16-14 in the closest-scoring blowout you'll ever see. UCA was the far-superior side.

How many possible wins are left on MSU's schedule this year? Two?

Total # of plays: 79-40 UCA

Total offense: 319-96, UCA.

First downs: 19-5, UCA.

The two MSU TDs were on a punt return TD and an interception returned for a TD.

I was thinking Indiana State might have a shot to knock off the Bears in Terre Haute this season, but after today's performance against Murray St. I don't think so.

At least I don't have to hear how "good" the OVC is because they beat a Gateway team, which always seems to be Indiana St.

Great game. Largest crowd ever for Estes Stadium. They are going to have to expand if they keep having success. Very fun. I was sitting in the student section.

MSU's defense did a good job adjusting and stopping the run after UCA's TD drive. But their offense made for some really good UCA field position which led to field goals. That last defensive stand by UCA with the 2 sacks was a thing of beauty.

My pics, if anybody cares:

As I told someone the other day.

"Sports are not about winning and losing...if it were Missouri State would not play football."
