Top 20 again for a crappy team I hate to say what happens when the Bears ever have a winning team.

SHSU will be the test. If the Bears get killed in that one, they'll get a crowd for Homecoming and that'll be it.

what does sum stadium capacity mean?
The sum of the capacity for games played.
So if your capacity is 10,000 and you've played 2 games your Sum Stadium Capacity is 20,000.

I noticed last Saturday's games are not yet included on that list. Do these numbers only count home games?

yes, only home games.
And last Saturday's games are on there, UCA has only had 1 home game so far.

Did anyone notice North Dakota State's attendance figures? Pretty impressive! When Western Kentucky was getting discussed as a possible Valley team, I mentioned NDSU as a possible good fit, but everybody poo-pooed that idea. But here is some food for thought: NDSU beat Wisconsin in basketball last year, NDSU has great facilities, NDSU has great fan support and potential big donors. They can compete.
It's kind of funny that the people who don't like the idea of NDSU in the Valley are against it mainly because they aren't familiar with NDSU athletics and are prejudiced because it is a "Dakota" school. But Valley fans failed to take into account that every current Valley member is considered a second or third tier school in their own state, while NDSU is the focal point of athletics in North Dakota. My point, in time, it could have been a very good fit. But it's all for nothing, NDSU joined the MCC.

MVjohn,
NDSU has excellent facilities. It would be a great fit.

Well, NDSU is still without a football conference and if WKU leaves NDSU would be a logical replacement. I guess the Gateway would be a good start for NDSU to build relationships within the MVC while the rest of our sports develop in Mid-Con. Then somewhere down the road when the Valley is looking at adding a team or two NDSU may have a decent shot.

I for one, have great respect for NDSU, given a few years, they could be great in the Valley, or whatever conference that they are in. The only drawback is the basketball arena is too small. Could it be possible that games would be moved to the DakotaDome until the basketball arena is expanded?

NDSU is planning a 16 million dollar renovation of the current basketball arena and I think that will raise the capcity but I'm not 100% sure how much. If needed though NDSU could use the FargoDome but at a capcity of 12,000 you need to pack the place to get a good home court advantage because it is a very large building.

Also, congratulations on landing a great basketball schedule in only your second year in D-1! Most of your home games aren't that impressive, but you got K-State!

The Mid-Con has served as a "feeder league" to the Valley a couple times already. Who's to say it won't happen again in the future? :original:
