WOW! 5..count 'em 5 Gateway teams ranked in the Sept 25 Sports Network poll. It's IL St. at #6, Youngstown St. ranking #8, SIU coming in #10, UNI's Panthers nab #13 and WIU nailing down #21. Is that some kind of record for the GFC? Conference play starts this weekend, and it's going to be crazy tough about (sorry Syc fans) EVERY weekend.

Im fairly sure we had 4-5 GFC teams ranked a couple weeks ago, but it sure is great to have 5 (with 3 in the top 10) heading into week 5 and conference play. The race is gonna be insane with extremely tough games every week like you said. The GFC is a bloodbath just like the MVC in hoops. Gotta love our leagues!

no need to be sorry, we ISU fans know ISU FB is absolutely pathetic.

I obviously cant speak from a Syc fan's perspective, but from where Im at it certainly looks like an improved Indy St. team this year. They had a pretty good performance @ Purdue and have shown early on this year that they can score some points.

Where is Vincy Glenn when you need him. The Sycamores should:sycamores: at least get some publicity out of this losing streak we are having. We need some stud defensive lineman or 5 to come save us with his Mighty Mouse outfit.!!! Help!! See the Sycamore dude with the white flag.

Thank you Phantom. Please send some run stoppers if you really want to help. And, SIU, PLEASE take it easy on us, for we need a break.

I think I remember the Gateway having 5 ranked teams before. At this point last year there were 3 (WKU was #2, SIU #5 and .UNI #6). The Gateway was the first conference to ever put four teams in the playoffs. It's crazy every year any more. Any team good enough to win the Gateway is capable of winning the whole thing. WKU won the national championship in 2002 without winning the Gateway. It has been a tough league for years.

According to the Gateway Conference web site, this is 6th time in league history 5 teams were in the top 25.

Just think if we add North Dakota State to replace Western Kentucky. 6 would be ranked.
