Probably some bias in that update as it is a Cyclone update. I would love to see the Panthers pull it off, but have my doubts. Losing to a D2 has really hurt their reputation and their position in the rankings. Panthers are always dangerous though. In the words of Ogden Nash:
A panther looks like a leopard,
Except that it hasn't been peppered.
Should you behold a panther crouch,
Prepare to say ouch,
Better yet, if called by a panther,
Don't anther.

ISU will win big. Too much talent on offense with Meyer, Blythe, and Hicks. They haven't clicked yet, so you can bet that they'll fill the pressure to before they play their last seven conference games.

Look, I don't want to sound like a jerk or anything, but ISU has played 4 games, one in conference. How long do they NEED to gel?

UNI 28- ISU 21
:valley: Look, part of beating a 1-A team is believing you can. WE were intimidated by the setting against IU and the 30000 plus people at first , got over it, and started doing what we always do against any football team--run it down their throats--there is something to be said for the old saying "they put their pants on one leg at a time like we do"--just don't be so scared that you can't play your game, or put on your pants:lol: :panthers: :panthers: :panthers:

ISU simply has too much talent, especially on the offensive side. How will UNI's corners cover Blythe, Flynn, and Davis? Then, Stevie Hicks will bring his between-the-tackles smashmouth running and slowly wear down the Panthers. One thing I have seen (with the exception of New Hampshire, who could probably be the #3 team in the Big East these days), the good IAA teams will play the IA schools close and tough for about 2-2.5 quarters, then they wear down. This game will be no exception. This year's UNI team is not as good as the past few years' teams...As great of a QB Eric Sanders is, he will have to throw over 300 yards for UNI to even have a chance.
ISU is still a work in progress, their offense is fine, maybe even a little underachieving, it's their defense that needs to step it up if they want to challenge Nebraska in the North.

If ISU puts up any more than 40 points up on UNI, I swear I will streak the Campanile in broad daylight. There is NO WAY That Blythe and Hicks and Mummahad Jihad Ali Meyer will run that roughshod over one of the best secondaries in I-AA. The only way that happens is if the final score is 44-37 or something that.
I am NOT afraid of Iowa State. They simply have not shown me anything in the way of proof that they will dominate UNI. This is a game UNI can win if they put their A game on the field. You mean to tell me a team whose highest point total in regulation is 17 (Toledo doesn't count; they needed three overtimes to score 45) is going to put up 40+ points on UNI? I don't buy it.

I'm one to admit that I was wrong. The Panthers played tough and just came up short.

A valiant effort in this game, Panther fans. No moral victories, but you can certainly hold your heads high after this one.

Wow. It was much closer than I thought. UNI probably should have won, they're better than I thought they were.

Iowa State is decent, but I don't see them finishing any better than 7-5 this year. As for my Cats, a Gateway title suddenly seems to be the goal once again. BRING IT ON!
