Well, since no posters have thrown out their predictions yet, here goes:

SIU protects their home turf even though WIU gives them a major tussle
Dawgs 24-Leathernecks 17

UNI continues to get better in a win over MSU (who's still a couple of years away from making their move in the Gateway)
Panthers 31-Bears 10

YSU completely rolls over IN St (who are just outmanned in Gateway competition)
Penguins 45-Sycamores 10

IL St gets out of Bowling Green with an important win over WKU
Redbirds 27-Hilltoppers 24

The SIU-WIU and IL St-WKU tilts should both be real battles!! :bash:

Southern Illinois rolls over a confused Leatherneck defense.

SIU 41, WIU 27

Youngstown State succeeds in winning the only real gimme in the conference schedule.

YSU 40, Indiana St. 14

Illinois State flexes their muscle.

Illinois State 27, WKU 13

UNI is not fazed by Terry Allen's "bag of tricks."

UNI 34, MSU 13

No way does the WIU D hold SIU to 24. The Salukis lowest point total this year was 35 against IA Indiana.

I agree. If UNI's D doesn't improve, SIU could easily put a clinic on in Carbondale when the Cats come to town.

Let's pray it doesn't come to that. :fear:

SIU-I don't think WIU can stop Whitlock
YSU-the question is not whether or not they will win, but by how much
UNI-they'll protect their home turf in the dome.

and my Game of the Week (slightly ahead of SIU-WIU)

Redbirds over the 'Toppers, DJ finally gets a win at ISU over WKU (he has only beaten them once I believe-while he was at Murray St)

It's always been interesting to me how the SIU/UNI series has gone the past few years. UNI always finds a miracle against the Salukis at home (Furrey runs back a punt for a TD; UNI rallies from double-digit, fourth-quarter deficits the past two meetings) and SIU holds serve at home, sometimes convincingly.

What a great rivalry in football!

I was at the last two SIU/UNI games at the Dome and I still can't believe SIU didn't win either game. The Dome doesn't like us.
