I'm running a bit late this week, but pick your winners for the third week of conference play. Mine are:
SIU
YSU
UNI
WKU
Panthera Pardus

SIU 28, Ill St 24
Either way, we'll get a great idea of what the Birds look like after this game.
WKU 31, MSU 7
Missouri State's obvious lack of offense shuts them down.. possibly for good.
YSU 40, WIU 21
Who's afraid of the Big Bad Leathernecks? Certainly not YSU, for they are no Kentucky Wesleyan.
UNI 59, Ind St 14
I long for the days when Indiana State was a game to look forward to.

SIU 28 ISU 21----- young Salukis play better in high pressure away games with large crowds (ie, Indiana)
WKU 35 MSU 3---no QB's=no offense for Bears
WIU 28 YSU 24 --payback time for last two frustrating games, YSU can't stop an excellent WIU offense
UNI 49 ISU 14----Trees aren't very good
ISU87

UNI 55 (we give up the same amount each week and don't want UNI to feel slighted)
Indy State somewhere between 3 and 17
UNI gains over 500 yards of offense, most on the ground game.
we're awful and need to drop FB (for the umpteenth time)

SIU will score more than 3 points you can count on that.
Panthera Pardus

Agreed. If the Salooks have any shortcomings, it AIN'T offensive production.

are you freaking serious...get a clue. SIU may not win, but I'm pretty sure you aren't going to shut down that offense.
I hope this is simple propoganda and love for your team. I can understand that. But if you're actually serious about SIU only scoring 3 points, you my friend are the dumbest football analyst I haver ever met.

I highly doubt Cali's prediction was serious
I dont think anyone sees us holding SIU's offense to just 3 points. This game will be moderate to high scoring. I think either way we will be looking at a score in the 31-24/34-27/42-35 range. If either team scores less than 3 touchdowns in this game, Ill be surprised.

Man, after reading this thread, the Saluki fans have got to feeling a bit silly.
SIU is still a very tough team that should make the playoffs and do the Gateway proud. Today though....they ran into a better team. Unless the teams meet again in the playoffs, guess the next SIU versus ISU game will be on the hardwood. I am completely jazzed about b-ball season being only a month away...YES!!! :original:

SIU will be favored heavily on the hardwood, but man...Calibird wasn't that far off. If not for a roughing the passer penalty and a missed XP, he might have nailed it exact. I've seen the Birds play better, but I've seen the Salukis play much better. I wouldn't be surprised to see them playing in late November or December.

just as I predicted, UNI gains 578 yards on offense today, but only scores 34 points, ISU scores 14, (which is what I predicted (between 3 and 17)). Bring on Misery State for a battle for Last place in the GFC next week!

Indiana St. would probably look a lot better if they didn't have to play a brutal schedule. When half your conference games are against ranked teams...heck top 10-15 teams!...hard to win games.

I've been afraid of Illinois State since the season started so I chose not to make a pick.
I thought it'd be a tough game for us to win. Illinois State is very, very good and today, we were very, very bad.

The 38-3 prediction is not too far off, acutally. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
:redbirds: Congrats to the Redbirds, they really smoked us today.
