After reading this thread, I've come to this conclusion (not a prediction!!)....... The state of Iowa may end up making up 10% of the NIT field.
I hope they don't all end up in the same bracket.

This ordering looks very reasonable, but I have a hard time believing that the Valley champion has only 3 conference losses. The league is simply too good, there are no more gimmes. I like 6 in the post-season though!:valley::original:

I thought the same thing when I read that.
I don't think the difference in respect between 3 and 4 teams in the tourney will be that great in the media. If we get less than 3 though (which we won't) then it will be back to the "same old Valley". I think 3 at this point is realistic and not too over-zealous of a prediction. But I definately think 4 is possible again this year.

Okay i've read all this about how terrible Indiana State is going to be and that we'll be last place again. This is the last straw. 4 Wins!!! You have got to be kidding me. That's a disgrace to our conference that you think the last place team in the Valley can't win 5 games. We may finish last, which i don't think we will, but i guarantee we win more games than 4. The team was not prepaired to play without David Moss when he went down last year...they all know what has to be done and what is expected of them now and i promise you'll see a difference. You all are underestimating what the young players on this team can do. Also, you will be hearing a lot about Gabe Moore this year, the most under rated PG in the valley. We stay healthy i feel a lot of crow will be eaten come tourney time.

I like your optimism and your support for your school! However, who do you think will finish last if you don't think Indiana State will?
It sucks, but somebody has to do it..

I have a lot more confidence in the fact that Indiana State will finish in the cellar than I do with how the top will pan out. That said, 1 conference win seems a bit low, the trees will steal a few conference wins. Indiana State goes 7-23, 4-14.

so what, we're not allowed to comment back on an opinion now either? Yes it's his opinion, I respect that he has an opnion, but I think he's wrong.
Whatever, dude.
Do whatever you want.

I don't know if I just wanna be a bit different, but here is my take.
(1) WSU
(2) Creighton
(3) SIU
(4) MSU
(5) UNI
(6) DU
(7) BU
(8) UE
(9) Ill. St.
(10) Indy St.
I think that there are three distinct groupls, 1-4 & 5-8 - which pretty much seem like a crap shoot, and it SEEMS that both ISU's are bringing up the rear. It's quite hard to figure out the Valley though. Too much parity...

IM HERE KENNEDY!
Here's what I got.
This means SIU will be awful. I ACTUALLY PICKED THEM IN THE TOP TWO FOR ONCE!!!
1. CU 14-4 Veteran. Well Coached. Top Notch
2. SIU 14-4 Top 9 scorers return. Not having Bone is going to hurt.
3. Wichita 13-5
4. Northern Iowa 12-6
5. Missouri State 12-6
6. Evansville 7-11
7. Bradley 6-12
8. Drake 5-13
9. Illinois State 5-13
10.Indiana State 2-16
Here's the thing. 1-3 are interchangeable.
So are 4 and 5.
So are 7 through 9.
Don't be surprised IF: Illinois State's young kids do better than expected.
Missouri State finishes in the top 3.
Wichita doesn't make the tournament.
SIU struggles early
Northern Iowa makes a run for the conference title
Evansville finishes around .500

You're judging one exhibition game at home against Missouri Southern as a reasoning for this... Yikes!..
