dang it! First Cornelius, now Bone. We are gonna be in the same boat we were last year with no depth. GRRRRRR

The injury bug appears to be spreading across the Valley. Sucky indeed.

I guess he can keep Chris Cornelius company on the sideline.

I guess it's our turn in the MVC derby of who is going to be hurt significantly this year by injuries. I realize that many of the other league members have had this unfortunte dilemma in recent years.

We did have Tony Young operating at less than full strength for the early part of last year, but now we have to hope for a medical redshirt for Cornelius and come to grips with the almost-for-sure-now reshirting of Bone.

Things have gotten a little less optimistic in Dawg Country in the past couple of weeks in my opinion. :helpsmilie: :salukis:

I think these injuries are major issues, likely problems and put a damper on my optimism. We didn't need both of these frosh to play, but one had to.

I think the pressure gets put on Clemmons to show a lot of growth this season and Shaw should be playing small forward in spots with SIU playing Falker/Boyle and Foster inside. If not, SIU is gonna stay real small (losing Cornelius for the season with a medical redshirt at 6'7 and Bone for part of the season, if not a medical redshirt year, at 6'3) and play three guards, three small guards at times. That isn't gonna improve the offense or the outlook for better offense. Nor does it allow SIU to play to its defensive strength, with depth becoming a question when it looked like a strength three weeks ago.

Its bad for our depth but in the long run may be good for our program...contrary to what some Saluki fans want to believe....Josh Bone is not ready...offensively he can play...defensively, well , lets just say he is not near where he needs to be to play major minutes...it may be a blessing in disquise....if in fact he red shirts.
