Scout.com is reporting that P'Allen Stinnett (Rivals 4 star, Scout 3 star) has verbaled to the B-Jays. I guess he liked what he saw last night. :naughty:

I wonder how Iowa State feels right now? They lose both Kenton Walker and P'Allen Stinnett to little 'ole Creighton, ouch.

Not to start a flame war... but until they sign on the dotted line, it seems to me that some coaches will still pursue him..(KS) and maybe others who are not so ethical...
:valley: :salukis:
True, but signing day is only 10 days away, I believe.

Looks like CU was the only offer he had. Probably shouldn't get toooooooo excited. Besides he's got a bum knee.

Iowa State offered, and I believe Gonzaga.
These were the schools that were heavily recruiting him:
Creighton
Iowa State
Gonzaga
Seton Hall
Oregon
Idaho
I believe he had offers from Iowa State, Gonzaga, and Idaho.

But they all pulled their offers when they heard he banged up his knee.

Altman, Bluejays concerned after exhibition effort
Creighton's biggest win Thursday night came a couple of hours after the Bluejays posted an exhibition victory over EA Sports.
Creighton basketball recruit P'Allen Stinnett
That's when highly regarded guard P'Allen Stinnett told Creighton coaches that he would sign a letter of intent Wednesday to attend the school. Stinnett, ranked No. 96 on the Rivals.com Top 150, was among the 10,500 at Qwest Center Omaha who saw the Bluejays' game against EA Sports.
"I've never seen anything like that as far as a crowd for an exhibition game," Stinnett said today. "Who wouldn't want to play in front of that big a crowd night in and out. The arena is amazing, and it was a great crowd."
A year from now, Stinnett hopes Bluejay fans will be cheering for him.
"I'm looking forward to trying to fill the shoes of a player like Nate Funk," Stinnett said. "I watched him, and I think I have all the attributes that he brings to the court. I feel I'm a guy who can make basketball plays, whether that's putting the ball in the basket or getting that one big defensive stop when my team needs it.
"Nate's that kind of player, and hopefully I can fill those shoes for Creighton."
Funk is one of four seniors the Bluejays will lose after this season. With his commitment, Stinnett joins Kenton Walker and Kaleb Korver as players who have said they will sign letters of intent.
Walker, from San Diego Scripps Ranch High School, and Stinnett played AAU basketball together for the Las Vegas Prospects. Walker also is a Rivals.com Top 150 prospect (No. 133).
"I've known Kenton for about a year now, and I'm looking forward to playing with him in college," Stinnett said. "Creighton has made a name for itself, and to keep up the program you have to recruit the best players.
"I'm stoked about the chance to play here. What more can a guy ask but to get a chance like this?"
Stinnett picked Creighton over Iowa State and Idaho. He also had an official visit scheduled to Seton Hall but plans to cancel it.
"The thing I liked about Creighton is the flat-out honesty they brought to the recruiting process," Stinnett said. "They don't bring you in and try to make things unrealistic. The basketball and the people here are great. It was just a really good fit for me."
Stinnett is playing this season for Brewster Academy, a prep school in Wolfeboro, N.H. He originally signed with Iowa State last fall but was released from his letter of intent when the Cyclones fired Wayne Morgan last spring. Stinnett is from Las Vegas, where he played for Palo Verde High School. He averaged 25.5 points as a junior, finishing second in Nevada in scoring.
Having been through the recruiting process twice, Stinnett said he's glad it's finally over.
"This is a big relief," he said. "I had no idea this was going to be such a big deal. Creighton made me realize that the four years I spend here can make a big difference in my life. This is a place that can build you up to what you want to be in life."

Would Stinnett be part of Creighton's 2007 recruiting class? I thought I read somewhere that Creighton had already filled its 2007 class as a result of the two freshmen this year who are apparently red shirting (Casey Harriman and Aaron Brandt) and then the commitments of Kenton Walker and Kaleb Korver. Not sure where the transfer from Louisville fits into this.
That's the million dollar question. A lot of us Creighton fans thought we were done as well.

Its been a great decade to be a Jay, and the next few years look even better with the news about P'Allen. I agree that rankings don't always mean alot (see Kyle Korver and Nate Funk), but getting these types of recruits signed up is a sign that a program is getting mentioned in the same breath as the other top-flight programs in the nation when going after highly regarded recruits. Based on Rivals' rankings, next year CU will have the following on their roster:
3 star and #106 Chad Millard (So.)
3-star and #132 Isaac Miles(So.)
3-star Kenny Lawson(So.)
3-star and top 10 JUCO recruit Ty Morrison (Sr.)
3-star and #133 Kenton Walker (Fr)
4-star and #96 P'Allen Stinnett (Fr)
3-star Josh Dotzler (Jr)
We also add highly touted recruit Antoinne Young in 2008 (#62 at Scout and #99 at Hoopmasters and #85 at Hoopscoop, but for some reason unranked and no stars at Rivals - of course him committing early to a MVC school has nothing to do with that...). It will be tough to replace Funk and Tolliver, but its safe to say Dana has never had this type of talent to work with. The future looks bright in Omaha!

Rivals hasn't put out their entire rankings for 2008 yet, have they?
I have also heard the story about the knee. I hope he's fully healthy and good to go.
Good get Jays!

Dana has been doing one hell of a job pulling in press clippings! They way he coaches I'm sure CU will be a top 25 for many years to come!

To me, the most important thing about this recent recruiting bing is the fear of eventually losing Dana to a BCS school if he ever became frustrated with not being able to get Top 100 kids and seeing if he can go a long way with that type of talent.
If he is able to get those kids at CU, then I am comfortable that he will finish his career at CU because if he has the coaching skills to turn those types into MAJOR winners, he has them here and doesn't have to go elsewhere for that opportunity.
Who knows if they'll pan out into top flight players but after seeing one practice and one exhibition, I am willing to bet that Isacc Miles WILL have a fine career and Kenny Lawson is 99% sure of having a fine career if he can add weight. Next year, we'll see what the next bunch of 4 star, Top 150 kids Millard, Walker and Stinnett add.

I think it's pretty safe to say that a scholarship will open up in Omaha by springtime.
