Drake squeeked past Truman State tonight... 91-59.
Nick Grant -17 pts
Aj Calvin - 17 pts
Leanord Houston - 15 pts (along with a wicked dunk, apparently)
Klayton Korver - 10 pts or so...seemed to have a very quiet game.
Jacob Baryenbruch - 6 pts
Chris Bryant - 5 pts
Bill Eady - 3 pts
prolly missed a few in there. Drake dominated this game from the get go...sound like their intensity was much greater this game than the last. I think they said the crowd was 4600...pretty good for an exhibition!
TSU
35% FG, 20% 3pt, 65% FT, 34 rebounds, 15 T/O
DU
53% FG, 35% 3pt, 56% FT, 46 reb, 11 T/O

Drake definitely played better tonight. The game was essentially over with 12 minutes to go in the first half (25-11 score). Drake was up 23 at the half, and had already used 13 players....I think they ended up using 16 by the end of the game.

Hey Met, when Chris hit that long 3 pointer I thought "I know MetDrakeFan is listening and jumping around the room! " DUBulldog came down and talked to DUlldogMom but but snubbed me  ;c) I was crushed.
Great game for OUR Bulldogs (since TSU was the Bulldogs too). Nick Grant was awesome. Leonard Houston addded 15 including what is now the best dunk I've seen at the Knapp Center. Ten players got 9 minutes or more, 17 played. A fun game, but almost boring, Drake had it so well in hand. (the key word ALMOST).

One other thing... after the game, instead of the running off into the lockerroom the guys stayed out and went into the stands, thanking people for coming to the game, shaking hands, hugging kids and signing autographes for the fans. That was great and really well received by the fans.:bulldogs:

I had made a quick getaway after the final buzzer, so I missed that. But, the announcers did mention that when they were interviewing Tom Davis post-game. I was very impressed by the size of the crowd. It was announced as 4600, but I thought it looked like there were 5000-5500 in the building. We've seen bigger crowds for the two exhibition games this season than for some of the conference games last year. I hope this attendance trend keeps up.
FRD, sorry for the snub.....if I had noticed you, I would have certainly stopped and said hello.

I really thought that hitting his first shot would propel Chris to a good game, but that wasn't to be. He continues to really struggle badly with his shot, and every time he puts the ball on the floor, it's an adventure. It seems to be a confidence thing with him, and right now, he doesn't seem to have much. I keep waiting for that breakout game from him.

If the Dogs play like that every game, we'll win more and it will be a lot more exciting than the twenty pass then a missed three that we played last year. Most improved is Nick Grant. If he keeps hitting the mid-range jumper, he'll be a handfull for anybody. Ajay came ready to play. Good night for Drake.
