I kid you not, Washburn has taken Kansas State into overtime, and they lead KSU 73-71 right now. Not sure how much time is left. I thought Huggins meant KSU was invincible... I guess not.

The same Washburn team that was drilled by 30 by KU on Thursday night. Too bad the Ichabods couldn't pull it off. I hope this is a sign of what's to come for Gay-State this season...

I live in Manhattan and attended the game. KSU was out-classed in every facet, including class. If not for the officials, this game would not have been close, in WU's favor. From what I saw, Huggins was thoroughly outcoached, he simply sat on the scorers table shaking his head.

K State faithful are thinking that this is the year they gain respect in the big 12. Oh-oh.

They still might. The Big 12 is pretty weak. A mediocre team will finish third or fourth in that conference and it might be KState.

Washburn was just a speedbump on K-State's Road to the Final Four this year. Whether that's the D1 Final Four or the D2 Final Four has yet to be determined.

Since Bob Huggins has become KSUs coach, it has been amazing how many pollsters have placed the Mildcats either in or just out of the top 25. That's wild considering KSU was absolutely nowhere last season. Some pollsters even ranked the Cats above the highest rated Valley school. That's a pretty harsh disrespect of the MVC.
KSU better than CU, WSU, SIU, MSU? Hell no....I wouln't even put them above UNI. Pre-season predictions are often wildly off, so maybe it's just the case of pollsters blowing smoke. I realize the Big 12 will be down this year, so the Cats could have a better record. It helps that they'll be playing Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska, Baylor and a less-talented Iowa St. team.....I would think KSU could pick up a few more wins, but top 25?? C'mon!!! :ermm:
It'll be interesting to see how KSU fares in their OCC on the road at California, Xavier, Rutgers and New Mexico.

About their fans:
Perhaps a bit spolied by thoughts of instant gratifcation, boos rained down from the corners of the arena early in the second half. One fan screamed:"This is Washburn. Not Oklahoma. Come on!" -- Wichita Eagle Nov 5, 2006

How many years do you think before they pass WSU in terms of relevance in the state of Kansas? They've been down so long, but the way Huggins recruits I think that WSU could be in trouble.

Huggins previously said the chance to take on a high-quality opponent in private helps a team more than blowing out a Division-II opponent by 25 points
Oops. 3 OT 4-point win= blowout. Optimism is running high for K-state faithful.

KSU may climb quickly, but after Huggins is done with them and leaves the program in shambles they will fall just as quickly.

True that.
You live in Manhattan Cdizzle? So do I. I love to walk around with my WSU gear on. Good times. :shockers:

If WSU wins the MVC again and K-State finishes in the upper division of the MIAA, WSU will still be OK.

How long did it take MSU in Missouri?
