Nice to see the MVC showing up in these articles at sites like Rivals. We haven't been included in the past:

Thanks for that link.....I wonder if Rivals will ever set up sites for MVC teams. Probably not, because of the football factor.

MSU come in at 10th in the conference?! What gives? How are these rankings conducted, are they based off players just in their database or what? There is no way we should be ranked last in the list. Weems, Austins, Cline are all good, solid gets. Cline may be a very, very good steal.

All three recruits have submitted their LOI's to CU.

Its a great decade!!!!

How did Rivals rate those recruits?

I know Rivals never rated WSU's JT Durley because he didn't play AAU ball, and it's in the AAU tournaments where Rivals watches all the players.

There's also often big discrepancies between Rivals and Scout.com, so MSU could conceivably be 10th on Rivals' list and 5th on Scout.com.

FWIW -

The rankings are for this fall's early signing recruiting class only... The official first day to sign in the early signing period is today...

Remember, these ranking are all about the "stars" that Rivals assigns. We know from experience that MVC schools often find under-rated players. Take WSU's class of Evann Baker, Denzel Bowles, and Guy Alang-Ntang. Rivals has them each at 2 stars, yet the regional recruiting experts (who probably see these players more and have fewer players to keep tabs on) are ranking them ahead of 3 and 4 star players (Including P'Allen Stinnett http://www.newenglandbasketballservices.com/NewEnglandRankings.html (http://www.newenglandbasketballservices.com/NewEnglandRankings.html%29) )

Valley recruits also tend to be guys who are coming on of late. How many times have you heard about players committing to Valley schools, yet say that BCS coaches had started calling? It means Valley coaches are getting on these kids early, sticking with them, and reaping the rewards.

Rivals can keep putting the MVC at #9 in recruiting, as long as we keep finishing 6-7 in what counts!

I recv'd my Rivals annual recruiting yearbook yesterday which was 60% football ... their big thing with basketball was listing approx. the top 12 -15 players by position. The only Valley player I noticed was Kenton Walker who was the last one listed at his position. Sounds like a heck of get for Creighton.

More short man's disease posts from WSU fans obsessed with pooh-poohing the ratings to make themselves feel better. The funny thing is as soon as they get a highly rated player, I guarantee they'll be creaming their jeans over it.

FYI - P'Allen Stinnett has never played one minute of basketball in New England as he has just arrived there this year from his home in Las Vegas. So tell me again how accurate this guy can be at rating his game.

Pathetic.:ermm:

PS - here is a video of P'Allen {#10 green} going up against #4 in the nation for 2006 Chase Budinger {curly haired guy} and an all star team of Californians. Have a nice day.

I did not know he just moved there, so that's good perspective to have. But that was only an added tidbit to the primary point that Rivals and Scout are not necessarily the recruiting authority that they are made out to be. Outside the top 50-100 I wouldn't put too much stock in their evaluations. I'm sure their 50-100 ranked players are good, I just don't think that nationally it makes much since to go past 50 and expect any degree of accuracy.

Regardless, it's great that the MVC is getting recognized and unrecognized (as we know from past recruiting classes) talent.

Bradley landed an outstanding class on the heels of the Sweet 16. We finally are setting ourselves up for long-term success. Oh has it been a while!

I'm sure their 50-100 ranked players are good

That's why CU is very happy to have #96 P'Allen Stinnett.

Sometimes, it's just too much fun to go fishing on this board. I love it.
