Just got my tickets in the mail for the Creighton / UNI game. Wondering if anyone could suggest a hotel?

Walking distance to good bars, is going to depend on how much of a walk your up to. :) The real bar scene action is on the Hill, which is just adjacent to the UNI campus, but there really isn't much for decent hotels in that area. The Country Inn and Suites is decent, reasonable, fairly close to campus and easy to find (right off the University Ave exit) but its still a bit of a hike to the Hill. Holiday Inn Express isn't horrible either, but again, it's going to be a hike if you're wanting to walk to the bars.

Main street also has some great bars, better than the hill in my opinion. Check the Black Hawk Hotel, old style place with a great Martini bar in the lobby!!

Oh, I forgot that the National Duals are in town and thats why we are playing the Jays on Friday night. It really is a huge weekend for the Cedar Valley. How much a night is the Black Hawk, if I may ask??

I got a standard room for $94. The Country Inn was actually completely booked.

My In-Laws live in Center Point, so I know all about the great state of Iowa.

Looking forward to a good game. UNI looks great so far. We'll learn a lot more about Creighton over the next couple of weeks.

$94 is not bad, I expected it to be a little higher with the Wrestling Tournament in town.

You are a little drive away from the McLeod Center, but you are right on the parkade with some great bars and restaurants easily within walking distance. Have fun in CF.

We'll see if we can have some better luck against the Jays in a new building:)

I haven't actually been to the Black Hawk Hotel, but I know where it is. You are right next to all the downtown bars (within 2-3 blocks of everyone). Some good bars down their that I like are Toads, Pump Haus, and 4th & Main. The hotel is not walking distance to the McLeod Center however, it's probably a couple miles away, but there aren't any hotels in the area that are walking distance to the McLeod Center unless there is some nice weather and you want to walk a mile.
