Sorry Creighton fans, but your Valley Whore is actually Queen of the Prom.

Despite your dreams of WSU losing so that you could feel better about your schedule, it was not to be.

Wow, this is your second attempt in 1 day...While everyone else is one the same page, congratulating your Shockers on a great win, you have to resort to your usual tactics. Instead of enjoying your win, the usual obsession with Creighton continues...Class, pure class.

I will say it again, you are an idiot.

"It's going to be fun for the guys, playing in that kind of environment," WSU coach Mark Turgeon said. "That's why you schedule those games. We feel like we're a good enough program now we can go play those games and hold our own."

Maybe someday Altman will feel this confident about his program.

Not saying I would have started this thread myself, but even up until last week the CU fans were waving the "WSU is a Whore" banner.

ISaso and the rest of us are supposed to ignore the last 4-5 months of anti-WSU schedule campaigning by the CU fans on this board just because they congratulated us on one win?

Thanks for the congrats, now shove the whore crap up your ***. The reality of the situation revealed by the passing of time has shown you to be wrong. Time to eat crow.

The irony in ISASO starting these threads (I say "these" because there are more than one) is he is acting exactly the way any whore does. Just screaming out:

Look at me....:toot:

Acknowledge me....

It is pretty sad.

A well adjusted person would simply celebrate their victory and perhaps act like they've been there before.

Notice that this is the smack board. But I haven't seen any CU fans saying that WSU was whorring out after we beat them. Just let it go. This topic got old months ago. Good job to my Shockers for getting the win. It was good for the Valley. This is going to hurt, but good luck Bluejays until Valley play starts.

But since this is the Trash Talk forum......

My dad can beat up your dad!

And tell your athletic director that it was all expenses paid and $80,000, not the $30,000 figure he used to downplay the deal. They even paid for some boosters to go to the game.

Creighton guys just aren't good with numbers.

I guess sometimes it's best to not say aloud what everyone is thinking anyway.

Some Creighton fans, and you know who you are, were praying WSU would lose to Syracuse so they could "be right" about taking the buyout being a "whorrable" idea. With a Shocker loss, Altman's philosophy of avoiding the ultimate challenge games would be crowned as the defacto standard for everyone to follow and Turgeon's acceptance of this one-time game would have been severely chastised.

You know it would have happened, I know it would have happened. Let's not pretend otherwise. It's OK to be honest.

I guess to me it does not matter if the Shox win or lose in terms of any whore factor. I am glad the Shox won but I still do not like what it says about the MVC. We all have to live with our decisions.

iSASO
12-03-2006, 03:33 PM
Not sure what it says about the MVC, but the WIN at Syracuse says about WSU is this:

"It's going to be fun for the guys, playing in that kind of environment," WSU coach Mark Turgeon said. "That's why you schedule those games. We feel like we're a good enough program now we can go play those games and hold our own."
--Mark Turgeon

WSU is good enough and confident enough in their abilities to go anywhere to play and win.

Jayman

Scheduling the game says we are not as good as you. Please read the hundreds of prior posts on this matter to clarify further. And, please read my prior posts before you go off and get in a tizzy about this single statement. I know you read them before because you responded.

Great win for WSU and the Valley, no doubt about it. Scheduling the game in the first place is and always was the issue.

Oh, so I see.

You're all allowed to use all your twisted and faulty logic to call us whores, but when the passage of time yeilds proof otherwise, us using that proof to show how you are wrong makes us.... whores again?

What's with you guys wanting us to be whores so bad?

I mean, someone has to make the Valley look good... and it sure as hell hasn't been CU.

So, as far as the whore issues goes, here's how it works:

Just because a "Ho" bags a John that is extremely rich and successful, does that mean she is no longer a "Ho"? Of course not.

I think some of you have watched Pretty Woman one too many times...

Most Valley fans are happy for what WSU accomplished, including this poster. However, if some are not, it is because of posters like ISASO, rjl and a vocal few others. Seriously, has ISASO ever contributed anything positive to this board? His next post that actually compliments another progam or is not intended to incite will be the first.

What a pile.

In other words, you will try to twist anything to backup your sad little "The Shox are Whores!" campaign, which has failed miserably.

And now you're trying to drag Isaso and my name through the mud because we've called you out.

Whatever.

Call us whatever you want, I guess.

But WSU is the team everyone knows about, the team everyone thinks should be ranked in the top 10.

Everyone just knows CU as that team that plays in the same conference as WSU. And your non-con schedule can do nothing to change that.

Fraydog
12-03-2006, 05:36 PM
I think it's funny to see a few of the WSU people beat their chests like Donkey Kong, but generally, I think that people are smart enough to figure out who was wrong about taking the one and done without having to be reminded by the oh so pithy among us. WSU rolled the dice and won. Now if they came up snake eyes the same people on here complaining about iSASO would be the first to rub it in his face.

In the end it's entertaining, but I don't believe that iSASO, Rasputin, or DoubleJayAlum are representative of their fanbases.

Aw, feeling a little spunky after the Iowa State win?

Maybe, Drake basketball will actually serve a purpose this year other than being an RPI killer for the conference.

You're all kidding yourselves if you believe there would have been no threads started to rip WSU apart had they lost the Syracuse game.

I can even summarize what would have been said:
"First you go and violate Altman's sacred scheduling commandments and then you go and lose that game. Thanks Shocker fans, it's over! The MVC will never recover from your foolish actions."

Remember, it's OK to be honest. You know it would have happened.

I disagree, to an extent.

Yes, there were/are fans (not just CU) who didn't like WSU's scheduling choice. That is individual opinion and debatable, even after the win. The moral of the story is, there is more than one way to be successful in college basketball. Nobody has a secret formula for success, you do what you think is best for the program.

If WSU had lost, yeah, there probably would be some outspoken "I told you so" remarks. However, just because WSU scheduled this game, doesn't mean people didn't want you guys to win. There are VERY few fans that would be shallow enough to root against a fellow MVC team for such a stupid reason.

Hell, I rooted like a madman for you guys, my wife thought I was crazy when I was jumping and yelling at the TV towards the end of that game. So, I would just be careful in your future assumptions. The only time I personally root against another MVC team is when they play CU. Plain and simple.

Because it's not something he would personally do. I am sure (if he gets ESPNU) that he will be rooting for Dayton when the Jays visit Wednesday.

Just because you are full of hate ASSO, doesn't mean everybody else is.

Congrats on the great wins!

However it seems a little like going to a pay check advance store to pay off bills that are over due. Sure it's a quick fix but what happens next year when you can't get a home or a way game from a lower or mid tier BCS team? Only time will tell, maybe this is a sucessful strategy for WSU, and the whole Valley will follow suit.:ermm:

As of right now, WSU has LSU and Wyoming coming to Wichita next year, I would say that is a pretty good head start on a "lower or mid-tier BCS team" coming to Wichita. I am on record saying I didn't like the one-and-done with SU, but I have faith in Turgeon as he has done nothing to make me not believe in him thus far.

Another really good year or two and maybe all of us can get some BCS teams on our home floors.

We are lucky at UNI that we get Iowa or Iowa State every year. It would be so great to get a Maryland or an Iliinois to come on the road, and maybe it will happen.

PS- Maryland is coming to the McLeod Center Wednesday night... for a women's game. I am going to go watch UNI get crushed so that I can see what people call the greatest women's team EVER.

Is this the Maryland women's team that Gary Williams travels with? You knew that they had two women's teams at Maryland.........right?
