Way to make it a Valley sweep over the Clones, Braves. That was a nice plug for Drake and the MVC the TV guys gave toward the end of the game when they were talking about Drake-Iowa.

Weird game .. like BU only did what they needed to and no more. Never really was in doubt.

McD's intimadation tactics seem to have zero effect at this new level.

Way to go Braves....

Iowa St is officially the Valley's Beatch! 3-0

Ouch, that's gonna leave a mark! Man, how dumb must McD feel right now after going 0-3 against his former league that he ran away from for a "better" job? :valley:

Think it is safe to say that Iowa St. would finish deal last in the Valley this year.

I doubt that ISU will challenge Colorado for that spot.

Yeah, well Colorado would get blown out by 40 no matter who or where they played in the Valley. The bottom Big 12 makes the Valleys bottom teams look like post season teams.

I was a bit critical of the Braves during their recent losing streak. But they won me over today with their performance. Enjoy this one, it was sweet!!

Agreed. A couple guys didn't come to play, but enough did. BU won't be winning many more games with that kind of performance. Luckily, Iowa State was pretty bad.

It's always nice to beat a school that goes by ISU.

Did anyone else catch the post-game exhange between Les and McDermott? I don't even think they said more than two words to each other -- tension much?

Way to go, BU!

There was some interesting commentary from Gottlieb about the MVC in this game...In a nutshell:

The MVC is a darn good *mid-major* basketball conference

Mid-major is not a bad word

The Valley will probably get 3 or 4 teams in again this year

He doubts whether the MVC will be able retain young talented coaches like Les, Turgeon, and Lowery

The #2 RPI ranking is a product of early-season inconsistencies by the BCS schools and won't hold up

He doubts whether the MVC can sustain this level of success over the long-term

Compares us to what the MAC was 5 years ago

Thinks the major difference between the MVC and BCS conferences is not being able to land "big-time" recruits

Doug Gottlieb is to college basketball analysist as my grandma is to NBA scout.

I think SIU will have trouble keeping lowery, WSU and bradley have more money...they should be fine...unless Kansas decides to throw a bunch of money after firing self.

Doug Gottlieb is to college basketball analysist as my grandma is to NBA scout.

It was funny...He was doing these subtle little jabs towards the MVC, but at the same time, he would throw out contradictory comments like:

"Make no mistake, the MVC for real"

"We haven't even seen the full potential of this league since Creighton isn't at 100% yet"

"Nobody in the country has a more impressive resume so far than Wichita State"

Somebody get him on the Prozac truck, quickly!

Haha...I noticed that too. I've never seen a person so back-n-forth on anything in my life. He wants to be a puss and appease both sides. If you aren't a fan of the Valley, at least just say it, instead of just dodging around the issue.

How does a guy with a career shooting percentage slightly greater than my 3 year old niece be on national tv analyzing the sport he pretty much had no buisness being in?

Good win, BU. Always glad to see a Valley team come out on top in the non-con games.

It must be tough for McDermott when his opponents know his system better than his players.

Did he forget to look at ISU's schedule before he took the job?

And I have my doubts that ESPN will be able to retain talented talking heads like Gottlieb. :helpsmilie:

Gottliebs brother was a walk on at Drake back in the 90's when Rudy was here. I don't remember him playing over 5 minutes.
