Yes we have. It is called winning against good teams and winning on the road. It is a pretty simple concept.
The Valley is 15-12 against the BCS conferences and 5-2 against the top 25. We are one of only 3 conferences (out of 31) in which every team has a winning record.
They may not like us having a winning record against them but we do. And the rpi certainly reflects that. This is just more BcS spin.

Gotta give alot of thanks to Stanford tonight, as they beat VA at VA.

During tonights game Holthaus showed the valley has 7 teams in the RPI top 50. More than any other conference. Many of the BCS conferences have more than 10 members.
Mitch does a great job representing the valley. Anybody watching tonights game should have been impressed with the teams and the conference.

My cousin who lives in Dallas and is a Big 12 (Kansas) Homer watched the game and called me afterword.......He admitted this was the first time he had ever watched a Valley game and there was no way he would want his beloved Hawks to play either MSU or WSU this season.
Also said it was an entertaining brand of Basketball.......to bad games like that only happen when MSU or Bradley is involved.

Isn't Illinois State 7-7???
And if you meant .500 or better (rather than a winning record) then you are still wrong as there are at least 4 (I didn't check them all) with .500 or better.
Not to mention the fact that this is a relatively worthless stat, as most conferences maybe have one team (i.e. Colorado) that exclude them from this level of conference greatness. But keep spouting false statements, I take them as true.

Depends if you count the game against NON-D-I Lewis Univ or not.
If you do, ISU is 8-7.
If you don't, ISU is 7-7.

My guess is you used the realtimerpi stats to see they are 7-7. Their website shows them as 8-7. The RPI doesn't take non-D-1 games into account. The people that talk about records and stuff count them. So in D-1 games they are 7-7. This year regular-season(non-exhibition) they are 8-7.

A mistake that I could see happening, but it does leave some egg on the face when you tell someone they are "wrong" and they aren't.
I would count winning over Lewis University about as much as I would count winning a shirts and skins scrimmage, but I will accept some calling this a winning record. It's kind of like having a moral victory, you really didn't win #@#* but it sounds good.
Don't we only go by RPI data on this board since that usually shines the brightest light????

That stat and that statement was actually made by Fran Fracilla and Doug Gottlieb on ESPN GAMENIGHT last Thursday night.
That is where I got it from. So I guess it is espn that is spreading the "false statements".

The Pac-10 has played 75% of its non-conference games at home (and the other BCS conferences aren't far behind). If there is any argument about 'manipulating' the RPI...how is THAT not mentioned?

Our non-conference record is truly amazing.
Mitch talks about the 44-1 record at home, but I am even more amazed at the 30-26 record away from home (18-18 in true road games).
For an entire conference to have a winning record away from home says a lot.
Many of those road games were against BCS teams or other fairly good opponents.:valley:
