It never fails. Karma kills. WSU gets to bragging about being number eight in the country wondering who could possibly beat them and BOOM. Five Ls in a row. My own bulldogs and the fans that are my friends get to feeling pretty cocky about eight straight wins and BOOM. Four...soon to be five Ls in a row. Who's next to get kicked in the cahonees by karma?

I don't think UNI will lose many in a row. But I do think we will lose one this week. I hope I am wrong! :panthers:

They lost 5 of 6, but I get your point.

Karma may be setting in here, or maybe the Shock just didn't play very well in those games?

http://www.serieslive.com/img/series/casting/my_name_is_earl.jpg Karma!!!!

Must tell you though...this shows the greatness of shaw...karma should have made him the biggest bust ever, mike dale style, just because we talked about him like he was chuck norris...

karma could only lower him to a potential all mvc player, instead of the best player ever, god shaw god!!!!!!

(there is a reason i havent talked about carlton fay every thread)

Where have you been the last few days?
Starting threads like these may result in reverse karma? I dunno?
I think this was mentioned sometime last week. You must have missed it, being absent and all.

Leave it to Creighton to destroy the UNI party.

Last year, when we play our very first game ranked in the top 25, who beats us? Creighton.

Two years ago, who beat us TWICE by one point both times? Creighton.

Creighton is to UNI what UNI is to Wichita State.

Keep on woofing. Get the Weauxf Gawd Kubullseye back where need to be - on Northern Iowa University

From past history, we do know that 1 of 2 things will happen:

1. Northern Iowa University will kollapse before it over

or if they do happen to break that mold this year:

2. Jacobsen will be the hottest thing since ...(what was your coaches name last year?) and will be hitting the coaches lotto (in relative terms of what he's being payed now) at the end of the season and being living (insert your school here).

3. Or they will both happen like last year.

I'd be more worried about a late season collapse than a mid-season one. Since the majority of UNI fans are cool, I'd really hate for you to jinx it for them.

Cool as the other side of your pillow we are. Unless of course, you can't sleep at night, and you wake up in a cold sweat because expectations were warranted and somebody dropped the ball.

I think some UNI fans need to check themselves up reeeeeaaaaal quick. This is not the first time we have done this. In fact I was still going to UNI when the streak of NCAA tournaments started. I can remember all to well the 13-2 starts getting ranked and then fumbling a great season away to just an average season. AND Panther fans are you seriously happy with a tournament appearance, and a quick exit???? I'm purple and gold through and through, but lets not talk, and lets watch. Maybe it will be one of those seasons to dream about, but lets watch no more of this talk.:panthers: :valley:

YES!

Can't speak for all InSt fans, but I'm sure a good number of us are pleasantly surprised that the Trees hit the 10 win mark before February.

I prefer the reverse psychology k.... theory: I always tell my wife that ISU will lose by 35 points, regardless of who they're playing or where.

We'll lose by 40 tomorrow, so there. We'll know if it works about 21 hours from now.

Biggest L so far? at MoState by 20, not 35. See? It hasn't failed yet

C'mon, I'm just another long-suffering ISU grad. I personally suffered through the end of Ron Greene's and the beginning of Tates Locke's reigns. We all needed a way to cope back then, and this stuck for me.

Royce Waltman is definitely the best coach I've seen there. He just got screwed by defections for several years after their runs in '00 and '01. Don't upset our k...., please.

Unless... you're trying the reverse-reverse psychology stuff...

So if you want to win, do you predict the lose, or is it better to speak about the hardships you have suffered? SIU sures does have an impressive record, and I just dont know how Bradley can get it done without Crouch in the lineup. . .:innocent:

Unscientifically speaking, I would say predict to lose. Nobody wants to hear about hardships. I mentioned the rest because I just happened to attend ISU at a particularly low point in their basketball history.

By the way, Sycamore Sam doesn't conform to any specific Earth-based species. Nobody deserves a squirrel as a mascot. Hope you guys can get something better than that...

Anti-woofing only works if you truly believe it. The woofing gods know when you're putting up a front.

If you honestly think you'll lose, go ahead and predict it. If you think you'll win but want to "trick" the woofing gods, then its better to talk about your hardships.

You guys are beating the Karma drum to death.

And there is a difference between Karma and reverse-psychology.

Example, and for example only, since I'm on board as supporting Wichita State's scheduling this year.

A correct example of Karma (if you believe in such a thing ... and I don't) would be saying Wichita State is getting payback from the rest of the Valley at this moment for breaking ranks with Valley scheduling practices and doing a guarantee game at Syracuse.

Being an SIU fan and posting that Bradley is going to beat the Salukis tonight by 40 is reverse-psychology.
