View Full Version : A Plea for Jays Fans

Please, for the love of college basketball, do not, under any circumstances whatsoever, say anything that could appear even remotely to be piling on or talking trash to WSU for its early conference struggles. I ask, nay beg, this for several reasons:

1. As a Jays fan, I know we have no room to talk. We're playing well right now, but we've had our down moments this season.

2. Karma. If Valleytalk has demonstrated one thing so far this year that all Valley fans should be able to agree on, it is that karma is an absolutely unforgiving *****. Let's not give her any ammunition.

3. Look at their schedule. Their losses so far are not bad losses. They've lost at SIU (which many teams, even at the top of the conference will do this year), at Ind. St. (no need to remind anyone of our trip there), at MSU (ask Evansville what it's like to play the Bears on their court this year). The only home loss was to UNI (currently tied for first in the conference and likely to knock off a good many of the top conference teams on the road this year). It only looks bad because they've all come bunched up together, but not a single one of these is a "bad" loss.

4. Karma. Yeah, it merits mentioning for a second time.

Remember, we have to go TO Wichita very soon. Let's not go there having taken pleasure in any struggles, talked any trash about struggles, or otherwise in a position to eat a giant plate of crow. Please?

This karma thing is going to have us ALL sticking pins in voodoo dolls and chanting while shaking rubber chickens if it keeps up. Perhaps a mass exorcism will be in order in St. Louis...

Wichita is a great team that fell on some hard times, they will be back. I hope we play them tough on the road and squeek out a win, they are a good basketball team. :shockers: I am going down to St. Johns to light some candles if anyone is with me.:valley: :fear:

With our next two games, I'd be ecstatic to go 1-1.

For the Jays, the most exciting home game this year (other than the MSU game) is looking to be 1/20 against SIU. I expect we could see a sellout of 17,500 people rockin'...

I wouldn't discount just how exciting that season finale with WSU coming into town could be. It's entirely possible that that game will huge ramifications for the final standings in the league, seedings for St. Louis, etc., for both teams, and it's a Saturday night game. I expect we could see a third sellout of 17,500+ people rockin' (along with SIU and BracketBusters11pmDrunkFestPartyTimeFunNight)...

Urbandale Panther - I'm sure Realhoops meant that the WSU - CU game will have huge ramifications to decide which one of our teams plays on Thursday and which one plays on Friday.

Its a shame that more WSU posters don't start this type of thread to reign in some of their more vocal posters...

Yeah remember the good ole days when a CU thread was started and it was instantly hijacked by the WSU faithful. I actually kind of miss it.

There's no karma implications in that statement. I didn't say anything about conference championships. I was merely commenting on the fact that this league looks like it is going to be so tight all year that it is very likely that the outcome of our final game of the year will have some impact on what our final standing is and our seed, whether it's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, . . . Teams are going to be so tight all year, that one game, especially the last one, will probably change your final standing and seed no matter where on the spectrum you are.

Believe me, I believe in and understand the karma. I was being very careful not to piss it off.

well said. It appears that "karma" saw it your way as well. Congrats on the victory. Funk looked great. Is Creighton now the "class of the Valley?"

hmmm...interesting.
