We've won a hell of a lot of Road games this season and won some huge games on Neutral sites.......wins that very few Valley teams had last year. That is really the difference......everyone is pitching in.

I agree, it is impressive. As for post season and the RPI - The only thing that will change is that the controversy and arguments are going to be bigger and more heated; the result won't be better.

This'll just lead to more and more people dismissing the RPI as irrelevant. Where was that talk 3-4 years ago?

Either way, with the change to give more weight to road games, we've benefitted, seeing that the big boys are unwilling to sacrifice home revenue for a better RPI. That's what they get.

I know this is off topic but it think it would be cool

Does anyone else think this would be a good idea for march madness?

Say there are 5 things networks can bid on the tournament. (ABC, ESPN, CBS, NBC, Fox)

West Regional
Midwest Regional
East Regional
Southeast Regional
Final 4

all as separate entities

Get top dollar for every regional plus games on all stations, no March madness games will be missed by the fan and the networks can all get a slice.

I think it's a good idea, and have heard of it before.

However......what if ESPN bids on the East Regional, in hopes of getting Duke, Syracuse, UNC, etc... and then the NCAA committee in their infinite wisdom sends Duke west, UNC to the Midwest, etc... ESPN could cry foul and probably would cry foul.

Then you have networks trying to get to the selection committee on which regionals they are going to elite programs too.

But I do think it's a good idea. Of course ESPN with Gameplan, probably doesn't want to give up that money they get from showing all the games.

Good point.

If the networks get on the selction committees, mid-majors and schools without large followings would be screwed.....

What if the bidding results weren't announced until after the selection?

The scary thing is the NCAA Tournament TV franchise was worth diddily as late as 20 years ago. ESPN, then a startup network, bought it for a lark and it turned them into an empire and their revolutionary coverage of the event turned it into perhaps America's greatest sporting event, not to mention a gigantic TV contract!
