Told my wife at the game last night as a point of trivia, "It's not often you get to see "The Best" in person." Athlete, scientist, artist, whatever. He is just flawless at the freethrow line. (And an excellent outside shooter as well. Reminds me of Jimmy Rayl from Purdue years ago.) Someone else mentioned it earlier: he has really improved as a total BB player from his first couple of years.

Rayl did not play for Purdue. He played for Indiana University and was known as the "Splendid Splinter."
Maybe you were thinking of Rick Mount that palyed for Purdue.

Yes, Ted Williams was known as the "Splendid Splinter" also and of course would have been the first to receive that moniker. Rayl was thin as a rail. :grin:

Agreed, similar to my experience of being in the prescence of the greatest putt-putt golfer of all time....Awe-inspiring.
