I agree that Waltman has more than earned a new contract. This is the first time in five years that he has had an actual team, rather than a group of individuals, on the court. The one thing that has screwed him over in the past few years was the unreal number of underclassmen defecting. I would be floored if anyone were to defect from the current roster. Keeping Coach Waltman there would definitely reduce that likelihood.

I think the next 9 games will set the tone for what will happen. I hope the best for Waltman. I like the guy. I like winning. This season has been quite a joy so far. Even if we only win a few more games we have already exceeded expectations most gave the Sycamores this season. I said 12 wins this season (more than most predicted). This is a young team, but what the future of a young team that has played well means for a coach, I have no idea. I would say it looks favorable. Probably a shorter contract.

Even if ISU Blue lose quite a few on the road, I still believe Royce should be retained. The team was picked to finish in the cellar remember....
