Gotta have wins by:

St. Joes

Nevada

San Diego State

St. Joes has made their resume very appealing. Just win the darn thing and knock Xavier out. Sorry Creighton if that hurts your RPI, but if Xavier wins, St. Joes could get an at-large win. Their RPI is low 40's and they have a win over BIG 12 power Kansas.

I am not sold on Utah State. SO go Nevada, who is in already.

Everyone thinks that San Diego State is in regardless. So go San Diego State. By the way, their coach is an Illinois State grad.

st. joe is down by 10 and i disagree ... they've got no chance for an at-large bid. in fact, your post is the first time i've even heard the hawks mentioned. just my opinion, though. nothing is etched in stone, right?:)

sdsu's steve fisher is from a town about 10 miles from carbondale. his name was thrown about a little bit a few years back when siu was looking to replace herrin but he was tight with rich and that would have been awkward.
siu wound up hiring some guy by the name of weber.

Is there not an auto-bid for the A10 champion? Is is for the reg season?

Ther eis an auot bid (which is what St. Joe's and Xavier are playing for now). George Waashington went undefeated in the (weak) league this year, they are a lock. SO the A10 will get 2 bids, I don't see them getting 3 regardless of who wins this game becuase that conference isn't very good this year, and neither are the teams for the most part. However, the committee loves Kansas, so a win over them and a low 40 RPI will at least get them a look.

Let's look at their resume:

18-13

RPI 42

SOS 25

8-2 in their last 10

1-6 against the top 50 isn't impressive, though the 1 win is vs. Kansas.

Just for comparsion sake though: Texas A&M is 1 -5 against the top 50 with an RPI of 43. And most have them in.

I hope they overlook St. Joes.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over St. Joe's. There's a reason you haven't heard one word about their potential over the past few weeks. They have zero chance tomorrow. Zero.

Worked out well for Creighton's sake. That's another win over an NCAA qualifer under their belt. Littlepage said on CBS today that most of the discussion over at-large bids are over, but if Creighton is in the field, a win by Xavier could be the difference if Utah State wins tonight or South Carolina wins tomorrow.

Don't look now, but Delaware State's about to go down against Hampton. Pirates lead 50-43 with under 4:00 to play. That could be bad news for Bradley !

Please explain. I thought BU was a "lock" (albeit for me, BU should be on the bubble with the rest of us).

Bradley beat Del State earlier this season. The Hornets just lost the MEAC title to Hampton, 60-56. Therefore, BU's RPI will take a bit of a dive. I cannot believe that Bradley is getting "lock" status from all these "experts". Yes, they had a nice run to close the season, but I said last week that the loser of the SIU-BU title game in St. Louis was going to be on the outside looking in. If the Valley gets 4 into the tournament, they will be UNI, WSU, SIU, and MSU. You can take all the RPI numbers and game results, cook them down, and what could you make of it? On the plus side for them, MSU played a more competitive OOC schedule than BU did. For BU's advantage, they won 2 more games in the conference tournament than the Bears did. Also, looking at head-to-head records among the top 6 in the Valley this year, BU, SIU, and WSU had winning records. MSU had the worst of the 6. Since both teams split the regular season, it's going to be a tough call. They might both still get in. They both could go to the NIT. I would have a hard time choosing between the two, if it came down to it.

Meanwhile Kent State joined Murray State as another Saluki victim to win their conference tourney. This win should push Kent into the top 50. I know the Salukis don't have to worry about the Bubble Watch stuff, but it could help their seed.

.

Can a team be in the top 45 RPI wise and have a ZERO Chance?

I am not saying they are getting in, and I certainly don't want them in, but they, like alot of others have a chance.

Fisher is from Herrin, IL. He is the guy who became the interim coach at Michigan at the beginning of the NCAA tourney a few years ago and won the whole thing.

We need two more wins for things to be the best possible: Florida and Nevada.

I don't think the rest of the conferences matter as far as who wins, aside from maybe seeding.

These last 17 hours are gonna suck. Glad sleep is part of them.

Didn't I say 2 more wins. Pretty sure I did and it is quoted before. Good pointless post.
