With the 19 point loss are they a bubble team now. Didn't beat anyone good in the PAC-10 Tourney and trailed Oregon most of the night last night. They don't impress me. Nor does the PAC-10.

:( I agree, but since one of the members on the selection committee is the A.D. from UCLA, you can pretty much pencil them in. It's sad that it works that way, but it does.

They SHOULD be a bubble team now; Creighton's profile compares quite favourably:

California: 12, 22, 36, 57, 70, 86, 90, 118, 118, 118, 148, 148, 148, 153, 166, 166, 175, 180, 267, 327

RPI of losses:
Creighton: 19, 24, 27, 27, 35, 35, 89, 170, 233
California: 12, 12, 22, 32, 36, 86, 89, 175, 180, 304

Rd/Neutral Record:
Creighton: 5-8
California: 8-6

'Stretch Run'
Creighton: 6-4
California: 7-3

OOC
Creighton RPI 23, SOS 88 (7-2)

For what it's worth, no Pac-10 team has ever been denied a bid after going 12-6 in the conference, and that's what California had this season. They won at UCLA, which is good for them, but they lost at home to Arizona State who was in last place at the time it happened! Like a lot of teams, and not just those on the bubble, you never know which team is going to show up and play. They were very impressive Thursday night in their win over USC. Oregon played out of their minds on Friday and knew their season was on the line. I think the Golden Bears get in although they probably don't deserve it.

for what its worth, no team with an RPI of 19 has been denied an NCAA bid either.

and it better not start this year.
