Is BYU of 07 the Mo State of 06???

If they finish the regular season 4-2 they should have a top 30 RPI......but they have no quality OOC wins......plus they lost to Lamar (250+ RPI)

I think UNLV and Air Force are virtual locks at the moment......can the MWC get 3? Does BYU challenge MSU for the highest RPI never to make it?

Their Kenpom rating is 50.....their Sagarin is 48.......so the RPI is giving them major love but Ken and Jeff's formulas hate this team. The Bears last year recieved major love from both of these guys.......MSU was at 34 in Pommery ratings after the loss to Louisville.....so i don't know what it was after the loss to UNI.......big difference between 34 and 50 though.....

I say if they stay in the 20's of the RPI they are in......if they fall to 30 watch out Cougars.

This is one example of why the RPI is getting on BCS schools nerves.

I dunno. They certainly didn't *beat* anyone OOC, but they kept it close at UCLA, and they're pretty good. They beat Air Force and KILLED UNLV, so there's their high RPI. They're certainly an interesting case.

you know as well as i do that Mo State beat every post season team in the Valley except for WSU.....I don't really think the selection committee considers wins in conference as quality wins unless you are in a BCS league.....But if Mo St's RPI last season was Smoke and Mirrors I would like to see what they have to say about BYU.

MWC has a rep on the selection committee. Wouldn't be surprised if they're in.

Villanova is another team that fits last yr's MSU bill. Very high RPI, but not a whole lot of meat there...not that the committee is likely to treat a Big East team like they did the Bears.:cursing:
