Wow overall and a joke of a game! UNI is just plain terrible, no sense of urgency, i mean a 2-2-1 press should be easy to beat, but UNI doesn't, they are content with just slowly bringing it up the court and allowing Drake to get set up. UNI can't hit a shot to save their life! I mean i know my nephew can go out and shoot 24 3's and at least make half and he is only 10! Christ UNI just saw their NCAA hopes burst, now its hopefully to the NIT, if we can even qualify for that post season! UNI needs to find some athletes to play, Sorry but Brown couldn't hit water if he was in the OCEAN, Brooks can't hit crap either. Stout and Coleman are our whole team! God this loss pisses me off, UNI is capable of so much more, but yet we can't do it on our home floor!

What concerns me is that UNI absolutely lit us up last time from outside. I'm beginning to see that that's not the norm, but I'm still afraid it could happen again. Fortunately for us, all five Panther starters logged a lot of minutes tonight and won't have much time to recoup before our game.

The Bears must win on Saturday. Can't afford to be swept by UNI, especially with the free fall they're in right now.

If Drake can win their three remaining home games and one more in St. Louis, that puts them at 17-15 on the year. Add in the intangibles of a long-suffering team finally turning it around, a well-known coach, and an eager fan base that would probably fill their arena better for NIT games than most bigger name teams, and I'd think Drake would look pretty good to the selection committee.

They will not Snub the 3rd place team in the Big Ten, you know that. And they are def not going to skip over them, to take the 5th place team. So I say the hawks chances are still slim, but they look alot better than any other team in the State of Iowa.

They look good because they are playing other Big 10 teams. A win over Minnesota is nothing to write home about. This happens every year. Iowa fans somehow get these moments of grandeur only to be stifled by reality.

Yeah but not in the Big Ten it wouldn't happen. The Missouri Valley is a different League and that's why the big ten is better. Lets just face it, they are better in the RPI ranking as a conference and everyone is talking up how Mo state has this HUGE win against Wisky. Well the reason its a huge win is because the Big Ten is MAJOR Conference. They will get 4 or 5 in based on the fact that they are a MAJOR Conference, it doesn't matter what they are doing to each other, just as long as 4 teams have winning records in conference and one is around .500 in the conference they will get their 4 or 5 teams.

That's funny--Iowa's not even in the running in the Big 10 according to most pundits. They'll come back to earth, and their entire profile stinks. They don't have one good non-conference win, they lost to Va Tech, Villinova, and Arizona State (ARIZONA STATE?)...you'd have to ignore every law of time and space to put them in. The Big 10 looks like a three-bid conference to me.

There have been only 2 MVC games, out of 14, in which Drake has shot better from 3-pt range than their opponent. Both were against UNI.....and, it's not like Drake lit it up yesterday. UNI couldn't throw the ball in the ocean last night.

I really don't think Drake played great ball for most of the game....probably not even as well as they did against Creighton or Missouri State, 2 games they lost. But, what the Bulldogs did well last night was finish. Every time UNI cut the lead to 2 or 3, Drake scored on the ensuing possession. Never allowed UNI a chance to tie or take the lead.

Josh Young is making a strong push for FOY....another 15 point performance last night, including 6 huge points down the stretch. Al Stewart had 10 assists, and now has 30 in his last 3 games. Barring an injury, he'll set Drake's all-time single-season assist record. Nick Grant and Ajay Calvin were very solid all game, although Ajay got beaten up pretty good by Coleman and Stout. And, it was great to see Chris Bryant come in and hit a 3 immediately....after not playing for a month.

Drake hit 3's when they needed to last night. The first game everything Korver/Calvin threw up went in. Last night, they just kept hitting shots at key intervals. Josh Young was very impressive, he was hitting from 23ft.(Of course seeing a made 3 is a rarity as of late for UNI).

Rebounds, giving up easy shots, no bench, standing around on offense until desperation time, chucking 3's...:banghead:

Dude this is Valleytalk, not Big 10 talk. Everyone is so high and mighty on the Hawkeyes in Iowa even though UNI beat them AT their place and the Bulldogs dismantled them by 20. Hawks suck man. They will finish 4th in the Big 10, which means that the 4th best team in the Big 10 will have been beaten by the last place team in the MVC and about the 5th place team. Take off those black and gold tented shades man.

By the way, nice game by Drake, you guys hit some huge shots that did us in. The only thing I didn't like about it was Nick Grant was chirping all night. I know everyone talks a lot of trash, but it's frusturating when you see it live when you're getting beat :ranting:
