Just wondering if anyone has any inside information on whether or not Tatum is officially going to play or not?
Personally I'm sure he'll be in the game, whether effective, or not. I'm just wondering if there is an "official" decision.
Also, how key for the Dawgs is it that he plays?

They are officially saying it's a game time decision. But if you think he won't be playing at all; well then i recommend this :banghead:

His status is a game time decision, when he warms up before and to see if he is able to go... I dont think they would risk further injury to it just to get him to play... I dont think that if he does play he will be 100%... A deep thigh bruise is tough to come back from...

Word around campus is they are gonna amputate his leg this afternoon but if he can adjust to the prosthetic in time, he might be good for a minute or two ... against Evansville in the season-finale.

I watched the first part of the practice today--he stretched out with the team and shot FTs but moved a bit gingerly getting on to and off of the floor--didn't get to stay and see if he practiced---but I'd guess no--he'll just use today and tomorrow to get treatment. He's practiced enough already over 26 games

I hope he plays - and if not Saturday, I certainly hope he isn't out long. I guess these things can be a real beotch to recover from.

I said it before, I'll say it again: Tatum will play.
It does, howver, present an interesting question for Lowery though. Considering that SIU is all but a lock for the NCAA tourney, if there is any potential that playing can cause additional injury or delay recovery, should he play Tatum? Tatum is arguably the engine that drives the Salukis and their post-season hopes depend upon him being available. What is more important - winning the MVC regular season or winning games in the postseason? Would a loss to CU really have much of an effect of SIU's seeding, especially if Tatum is 100% for the MVC tourney?
A tough situation to be in...

Tatum did practice yesterday and was walking WITHOUT a limp today.
He is going to play today.

After reading that sports bet report in the other thread, I wonder if they troll these sites looking for the scoop.

Seriously does it really matter if he plays or not?? I personally wouldn't think it would matter that much. That's how good I think SIU is...

"I don't care if I had to come up with some home remedy and put batteries on my leg and tie a shoelace around it," Tatum said. "I was going to play. I wanted to be a part of it."

Considering the circumstances (deep and painfull thigh bruise, AND the flu) IMO Tatum's performance was the best one I've seen from an SIU player in 30 years. The kid just got hurt a few days ago but he guts it out.

Kudos to the SIU sports medicine staff for once again getting an athlete ready to play; well done! :salukis:
