Omaha is in the grips of a full fledged blizzard. Flights have been cancelled, interstates are closed. It looks like only those CU fans that headed out last night will be there for tonights opening games. :banghead: :ranting:
Hopefully, the interstates will be open tomorrow morning and a large caravan of cars will be enroute from Omaha, including mine.

If people aren't headed out of Iowa today, they may miss out on the tourney too. I'm assuming the Drake fans are already gone since they play today, so they'll probably be ok. UNI fans might not be as lucky though....I know the Des Moines/ Ames area is under a blizzard warning till 6 PM tomorrow, and Iowa State also cancelled classes this afternoon. Not sure about the weather in Cedar Falls, but I'm guessing it can't be much better. I hate winter :cursing:

For Des Moines, I35 is closed north of Ames (about 35mi north of Des Moines), and I80 is closed a little west of Des Moines. It sounds like we're on the southern edge of the bad stuff.

This weather in Omaha is insane. The interstate in both directions is closed and the airlines aren't operating right now either. CU fans are thankful they we a late game on Friday to allow people to get to STL - I knew there was a bright side to finishing behind SIU and getting the 2 seed.

UNI fans are being forced to brave the snowy 2 lane highways until they get to Iowa City. Roads are ok just south of Ia City.
Des Moines airport has delays, but still moving. I 35 south is normal winter driving for about 20 miles, then its just wet.

All Thursday flights out of Omaha now cancelled. Thats a minimum of 4 planes full of CU people. All roads out of Omaha closed. It's almost a done deal no Jays leave Omaha by any method today. Heard one of tonights refs is stuck here. I had 5 guarenteed rooms that were prepaid months ago that had to be cancelled by now to get money back. I am about to get on the phone and start begging to get my money back. CU radio is still here. I am beginning to wonder if we might not get out Friday. I am about to start drinking.

Just got done shoveling my driveway which was 8ft of drifted snow in some places! My back hurts, I'm grouchy and cold as hell :ranting: :banghead:  :helpsmilie:
It has finally stopped snowing here, but the wind has not let up at all. According to the local weather, the snow and other mess is headed the DSM way.
I sure as hell hope that the Iowa road crews can get I-29 open and clean by tomorrow morning or else I'll be left sulking here......

Yeah, I-380 is close from Waterloo to Iowa City, which includes all of Cedar Rapids (I-380 goes right through downtown CR).
So I have no idea how UNI fans will drive to the tournament. Because they can't take I-35 either.

ITS OPEN> They are CONSIDERING closing I380 Northbound ONLY. They want to stop people from going north into the nasty weather. UNI fans will have no problems getting to St. Louis...

Woke up in StL to 66 degrees and sunny....
After tornadoes etc.....
its only 50....
Friday in StL, 47 high, 28 low, possible snow showers and very windy
Saturday in StL, 38 high, 22 low, possible snow
Doesn't look like any accumulating stuff but it's a shame because it had been really nice around here for the last few days. Hope everyone gets in safe.

I'm not going anywhere. There's a women's basketball game tonight. I had wanted to go, but there's no way I'm driving the 2 miles to the Knapp Center in this.
