Does Drake even have a chance in this one?

One of my buddies simulated the game ten times on the college basketball video game (current year's version) and Drake won 7 of those 10. Could it actually happen?

Drake has a shot if they can dictate pace. If this game gets into the 70s or 80s Drake has a much much better chance than if its in the 50s or 60s. That said, I still think SIU wins, but a lot closer than everybody thinks...

The refs sure did seem to realize who was wearing the SIU jerseys and who was wearing the Drake jerseys. Falker, on more than one occasion, came across the body of a Drake guy to block a shot. Then, when Al Stewart does the exact same thing, he gets the foul called. Then on top of that, Al Stewart hardly even reacts to the call and gets the technical. I'm not saying that this lost Drake the game, Drakes inability to run an offense and score when in need did that, but it definetly made an impact on the game.

On the other note, Tatum played magnificently and the SIU defense, as always, was amazing. They have one of the best defenses that I have seen ever. They could easily make a deep run in the NCAA tourney.

Congrats on the win SIU. Drake had a good season, but it is a shame to see it end in a game with horrible officiating.

Good luck to all the other MVC teams.

I still don't understand how Stewart got called for the foul and furthermore why he got the technical call. There was literally no delay between the two calls. All that Stewart did was put his hands up, and he gets hit with the technical. The MVC should send an apology to Drake, for ending the season like that.

Are you joking? How many times during that game did Falker go across a Drake player's body to swat a shot? That, by definition, is a foul. I don't care if the refs are going to call that or not, as long as they are consistent. Al Stewart went across the player's body to block the shot, they hadn't been calling the foul all game, and boom, there is the foul. If Al said something, which he probably did, the ref at most should have warned him, not given him the technical. That was a bull**** call and evidently everyone but you realizes that.

Keita44

I hope not. The Dr. is just starting to turn the program around. He has been able to use his name to get some recruits, which has obviously helped out the program. I don't think he is that good of a game coach, but off the court seems to do pretty good.

I think that Keno taking over would be a big step backwards for the program. I don't know though, he didn't do too bad in the game that he was the head coach for this year. Give the Dr. at least 1, probably 2, more years and the team will be back near the top in the league.

I'm saying that in this game, it didn't make a difference. In other games, it could very well decide the outcome. The refs need to make the calls based on how they see it, not on the jersey the guy is wearing.

What game were you watching? SIU had 3 fouls in the first half and they were playing incredibly physical. The officiating was horrible. Would have Drake beaten the Salukis? probably not, but Southern sure doesn't need the help it gets from the stripes most nights (or days). I think that if SIU lost tomorrow, it would help the Valley as a conference. Would be very hard for the NCAA to turn away a Bradley team plus the win over SIU.

As for all that bad stuff happening to SIU, no way. We need SIU to keep getting stronger. The more recognition they get, the more recognition the Valley gets overall.
