I didn't see one started so I figured I would do it. Speaking for all fans of bubble teams... Let's go :panthers:

Great would not be the word I'd use to describe this game. I'm only listening on the radio but it sounds awful. Miss after miss after foul after foul.

Good game, Braves. Bradley's D kept us from ever getting an offensive flow. Missed layups and empty possessions sealed the deal for us at the end.

I thought part of it was the panthers lack of depth. Towards the end, they just looked tired. Great game by the Braves, probably need to win one more to get into the tourney. Good luck, I'll be cheering for you

I really like the fact that the league moved these games up a day. I think next year I will be flying to Stlou to see the tournament.

If we get one against the Egyptian Pups, I don't see how we wouldn't deserve to get in. Beat the CAA Champ on the road, top 35 RPI, beat the MVC regular season champ on a neutral floor (ranked #12) and won 6 of their last 7 games heading into the Valley championship game.

We're almost there. Coach em up Les.

Wow, how did that shot go in for Franklin? Braves played better overall and deserved to win. I thought their defense was really good for most of the game (it hurt you a little with Ruffin out with foul trouble). I was NOT impressed with McKowen's decision to jack up a long, heavily guarded 3 on UNI's last real possession. Stout was a stud, but Coleman definitely had an off game....bad passes, pretty weak defense, etc. Kwadzo looks like he's starting to play with more confidence, probably due to the fact that he's started the past few games. He should be a pretty good point guard for the Panthers. Exciting game and good comeback by UNI, I just wish the outcome could have gone the other way! I really thought the refs took over the game in the second half.....they started calling things a lot tighter and really took away the flow of the game. I'd rather see them play a little more (and I even think UNI got the better deal with the calls, it just made the game not as fun to watch). Good luck in the semis, BU!

I wish that UNI would have had a better play with :55 left. They needed to run one of those hundreds of set plays to make sure they got the ball back with a decent amount of time....

Nice Job BU... Get a win tomorrow so you can dance...

Although I'm disappointed UNI did not make the NCAA Tourney this year, I'm content with the NIT. Considering the bad stretch of games toward the end and having a new coach and the losing of the 2 leading players from the year before, a postseason bid is still acceptable. I think the best part, seeing this as a UNI fan that saw them in the "dark days", is that we're disappointed by not making the tourney. 3 years ago, when UNI got their first bid in a long time, it was a huge story. Now it's a story (at least in Iowa) that we're not getting in. That just shows how UNI has worked its way up to being a middle to top-tier team in conference rather than being the doormat. Some postseason is better than no postseason. Now UNI just has to focus on making a good showing and hopefully winning the NIT.

The other thing I like is now I can go back to liking all of the other Valley teams and cheering for them in the postseason. Represent well Valley teams and good luck to you all.

Saw the game, but had to go out before I could post anything about it. Bradley's big early lead was a shock. I was very impressed with the defense they played for the first 10:00 against UNI. Like good teams do though, the Panthers fought back and got within 2 before trailing by 7 at halftime. The Braves were able to build the lead up to 11 before Northern Iowa came back again and took its first lead of the day at 48-46 with just under 2:00 to play. The guy I was ready to award the goat horns to had the Braves lost (Will Franklin), manages to get off a wacky shot that goes in!! So the Braves win by 3 on a 3 with :03 to go--infreakin' credible :braves:!!! Franklin missed so many open shots and drives to the basket, I thought Bradley wouldn't have had to sweat much down the stretch if those shots he normally makes had gone in. Wouldn't you know it, he hits a contested, off-balance long ball to break the tie and keep Bradley's faint NCAA hopes alive. Tough loss for UNI, but I think they will continue to be a force in the upper echelon of the Missouri Valley Conference for many seasons to come. McDermott didn't leave the cupboard bare for Jacobson, and it seems like they have some good recruits coming in to Cedar Falls.

Hopefully you'll get that NIT bid. With the reduced number of teams and the auto bids this year, as well as the late season struggles, I'm a bit worried about whether UNI will get in. I think UNI is certainly good enough to get a bid, and hopefully you do, but I don't think it's a lock. I think if UNI does get in, they could definitely do some damage. If Stout and Coleman bring their game and get some support from McKowen, that team is capable of playing with about anybody.
