Definitely a big game for both teams. MSU needs this one if it wants to hang on to its at-large hopes. WSU, well, needs to win the whole damn thing. I'm pickin Hinson's squad in this one.

I do not think WSU is "out of gas". This is just my opinion obviously, but there has been team chemistry problems since the Kennesaw St game in December(before the vegas tourney). If WSU plays the way they have been, they are done.

Kennesaw ST and Maryland Easternshore were actually 2 games that were considered as the Vegas tourney but WSU and Kansas ST had home games against those 2. WSU plastered Maryland E as expected, but 2 nights later the game against Kennesaw was in doubt til the end and WSU never looked good that game or since that game.
BTW: about the "wuss" comment in your sig, you can't spell "it sucks" without SIU-C.....

I think at this point I'd rather see WSU again --- it's really hard to beat anyone three times in one year, the MSU/CU games were both really close and nerve-wracking, and it seems like this year the Jays just match up a bit better with WSU. More importantly, though, I'd like to see FOUR Overtimes to decide the winner in this game!

I understand that you don't play the game. But it really is about you -- it's about how arrogant it makes *you* look to be talking about who your team can more easily beat two games from now, instead of talking about whether your team will be able to win tomorrow. Not unlike when some Jays fan said something about "Bring on the Salukis" earlier today and was quickly reminded that the Jays have another game tomorrow that does not include SIU.
Pretty frantic start to this game. MSU on a tear all of a sudden to take the lead and just swarming WSU on both ends of the court -- MSU almost looks like SIU on defense all of a sudden!

The last few possessions it almost looks like WSU did not have in its scouting report that Mitchell would kill the Shockers -- he's being an absolutely beast all of a sudden.
This is definitely a fun game to watch right now, with some unbelievable efforts on both ends of the court on offense and defense alike.

34-32 WSU at the half. they have 8 three pointers, and just seem to really want it tonight.
Hopefully, I'm not looking at shades of last year when MSU didn't come out of the locker room for the second half.
They have a big advantage down low, they need to keep pounding it inside, and actually make some FT's.

The Bears really won despite themselves in that one. Ahearn was as bad as he's ever been in one single game...he didn't shoot or defend well, but he did pass okay. Mitchell is just a straight-up warrior...made every big play when it was needed. When Laurie fell on the three attempt at the end, I was *sure* that the shot was going in, but it didn't.
What's up with the Bears' weird vulcan hand-signal thing?
I'm starting to understand why MSU didn't bring a dance team...that place is a complete menace to all cheerleaders everywhere. Down goes another one. But seriously--is there any rational reason why MSU was too cheap to send the Sugar Bears to this one?
The whole game was like one big dark cloud hanging over MSU and their fans most of the way. I think everyone was feeling the pressure big-time. Hopefully they come out much looser tomorrow against Creighton.

Congrats on the NCAA tourney Bears!!! This game locks it up for you. You guys played great. Enjoy this season, you never know what next year will bring.
I agree with everyone who has said this was a truly great game. Amazingly clutch play, hot shooting, hussle, and just generally good basketball. If I lived in Maine and didn't follow the Valley, I would have still enjoyed watching this game.
Tonight was what I needed for closure for the season. I bet a lot of Shocker fans will agree with me. This was a good team, but it just wasn't their time. Close loss after close loss. Either way, the guys were/are a great group. The seniors talked in the postgame about how despite the tough times, everyone on the team got along. There wasn't any blaming each other. They simply tried their hardest to do what they could for the sake of the teaem. A couple of them said they wouldn't trade their time at WSU, even this year, for anything. I respect that.
The season ended tonight for the Shox, but I sure enjoyed it. I guess that is the sign of the greatness of college basketball, especially when done the right way. This WSU team did things the right way.
:shockers:
P.S. Is there a better bottom half of the conference, barely above .500 overall, lost their last 5 games team in the country than WSU?
