Move the Tourny back a week?

Should we move the tournament back a week. I think we should personally. If we could still get the championship game on CBS, I think it would help the Valley out. It might get a little lost with the BCS boys going on but it also would help keep the league on people's minds.

Move it back a week and you're not on CBS. You're lucky to be on public access.

The MVC tourney is perfect where it is. We get coverage on CBS and a week and half off to rest, heal and prepare, while everyone else is playing the next weekend and Sunday and then has to fly to the regional sites two days later....its a big advantage in my opinion.

First of all we WOULD NOT get on CBS a week later. Secondly, we could screw ourselves out of an at-large if a weak team and a bubble team played for the automatic bid. They would leave only one slot available. Say this year it was Mo St. and Drake. And it came down to Sunday and they already had the bracket set more or less, except for the final seedings. If Drake were to win, they would be in and there would be no spot for Mo St, even though they could have been included as an at large team if they didn't have to allow for the possibility of a team like Drake (or any other non bubble team) were to win the tourney. It happened to another conference a few years back and they moved their tourney final up a bit. The Valley on CBS sandwiched between 2 other big games is a Godsend.

You could possibly move the tournament back a week and hold the championship on Saturday. That would give CBS the option of showing a triple header with C-USA, Valley and Pac-10. But really saturday is full with so many championship games (ESPN is showing some on ESPNU and Classic), I'm sure the Valley could stand out, but it would require someone to probably be bumped.

But I dont think the Valley really wants to move the tournament to a Wed-Sat. format.

Or a triple header on Sunday with MVC at 11, SEC at 1, Big Ten at 3.

This is the perfect day for the championship! No NASCAR! Plus the other benefits of rest time and national TV prime slot when many people get home from church turn on TV for lunch. Only problem is you can get lost by next Sunday. If Elgin is as good as I think he is that won't happen.
