Davidson's just doing what a typical low-major team does in the NCAAs. They chuck 3 after 3 and if they're falling they win, and if they're not (like today) they lose. Strangely enough, not many teams in the MVC just chuck three after three.

I think a team like Davidson has no choice, because they don't have much size. However, you'd think a team like Davidson would use the mid-range shot. Another thing that got me thinking was playing the first game of the tournament. I'd rather play the last game on Friday night, then the first game on the first day. If you lose, it's like 2:30 East Coast time and that's it. It seems so anticlimatic.

Oral Roberts had one solid half, then tanked. Davidson (although not a "low-major," whatever that is) had a great 25 minutes, then tanked. Belmont had a great 90 seconds, then tanked.

Something I've gotta remember next year...never, ever listen to ESPN or CBS analysts on their bracket predictions!!! Most seemed to pick ORU to upset Wazzu. I did not take the Golden Eagles in my bracket. I thought Oral Roberts had one great win this season, at Kansas, but had no other wins of import in their non-conference resume. I also think Tony Bennett is a better coach than Scott Sutton. I wasn't worried when the Cougs trailed at halftime, but I couldn't help wonder how many folks across the country got suckered in by this pre-game upset talk. Washington State is a very good team. Their only knock to me would have been tournament experience, which is none when you consider they haven't been to the NCAA's in 13 years.

Looks like the caffeine finally kicked in for A & M...8-0 run for the Aggies have them up 45-39. They're playing very good defense now too.

He was money down the stretch tonight too. 12 missed FT's for Duke--that made a big difference tonight. Just a reminder for the Bracket Buster bashers...Bradley won at VCU 72-63. Guess that didn't qualify as a good win for the Braves in the eyes of the selection committee this year. As Valley fans, we pretty much know the level of suckability in our whole league this year. Too bad the committee didn't give our teams a better look all the way around.

VCU was down 5 with 50 seconds to play and he got three straight steals and scores. It was amazing. I think he wound up scoring 9 points in the last minute.

Glad to see him step up again.
