Raftery and Co. are talking about trumpet players and flag wavers on the online feed. :)

I've got UNLV/Ga. Tech. Not bad, I like UNLV! Bad part, I have Packer and Nance!:banghead:

And the pre-game festivities online have revealed something--apparently one of the two teams in the Memphis/North Texas game are getting the "wrong" players announced as starters. This is interesting in that the starters are required to be reported by ten minutes before the beginning of the game, and if different players start it's a technical foul. Tracking...

And we get the first MVC reference, as North Texas and Memphis' days as MVC foes are referenced by Raftery and Lundquist, probably two of my favorite announcers in the business. They're the ones that will be doing the Nevada/Creighton game, BTW.

Go UNT!

What is WRONG with Albany? They could win that game if they'd stop playing like crap. Same with Wright State last night, they just didn't show up.

It's already 20-18 in the UNT/Memphis game ten minutes in. These two teams are going to score a ton of points.

I think you are confusing not showing up with playing vastly superior teams.

Thats the right call. I remember seeing it happen in a high school game before. All players are suppose to be in the official stat book before a certain point.

for some of you young 'uns out here, UNT v. Memphis represents a battle between two former Valley schools.

Ahhh, the nostalgia......:valley:

Tennessee has scored 90 points...with 11 minutes left in the game. Who do they think they are, VMI?

I think you are confusing the fact that it was some of both things.

Va. & Pitt played outstanding gms, easily among their best of the yr. Wright St. & especially Albany laid eggs...little too much 'happy to be there' for WSU, too much overconfidence by Albany because they beat the same Utah team that killed Virginia. Neither team played nearly as well as they could have even against good opponents.

If Illinois and Purdue win, that would make the Big 10, 6-0. Once again, determining who the best teams are, comes down to match-ups and nothing more.

Texas is having trouble putting away New Mexico State, only leading by 1 with 7 minutes to go.

Theus time is now!!!

What an amazing choke job by Bruce Weber's Illini. That was positively Hinsonesque.

Most boring Tournament ever. The NCAA blew it. 8 Mid's and in at least 2 first rounds it was mid V mid. When is the NCAA ever going to learn that the excitement is David V Goliath. Why was Stanford with an RPI of 61 in this tournament ? Answer it's a BCS school that's why. The RPI is a tool that the NCAA uses BOTH ways. It gets schools in and it keeps schools out. It's all about money and I hope this year that the ratings make the NCAA reevalute their selection choices.
