Yeah. Losing in OT to a quite underseeded team in the NCAAs is a real embarrassment.

Fantastic game. Wish the Jays could've made one more play at the end of regulation (that's all they needed) but those were two top 25 teams stuck playing each other in the first round. Once again the pizz-poor job of this yr's NCAA committee shines through.

Tried to post right after Cold started this tread, but was having trouble with my login. What I wanted to say was that Cold seems to like no one but himself most of the time and I think he just posts to -- well, just post. (He doesn't even like the Shockers sometimes). Just ignore him. I'm no true fan of Altman (I think he whines just a LITTLE too much), but he CAN coach, and he did get a great deal further this year than WSU did. Congrats on a good season.

Rasputin was Creighton's A-hole, and he got himself banned. To my knowledge, you guys didn't have anything to do with that.

Creighton fans, I congratulate you on a great season and a valiant effort. I think you got the shaft by having to play the #13 team in the nation in the 7-10 match-up. Also, being a top 25 team, it was pretty hard to see you as a #10.

Let's just quit being jerks to each other until next Valley season. Remember that if the Valley has a bad showing overall, it hurts every team!

Putting aside the juvenile talk by a few of the trolls on this board, I wanted to contribute to this "intelligent" discussion. I was thinking of starting a "fire Dana Altman" thread (tongue in cheek of course) due to his rather poor tournament record. But common sense prevailed.

Let me put it this way. I'm hearing today about several BCS teams that have either not been in the tournament for years (Virginia Tech), or teams that have not won games in a long while (Virginia's first win in 10 years, and USC's first win since 1999). Contrast this with Creighton's seventh NCAA appearance in the last nine years, and I think Creighton has a great thing going.

I will say that Altman for some reason under achieves in the tournament, and I think his status as a Creighton coach will only be determined by how satisfied Creighton fans are with a "one and done" scenerio every year. If they want to become demanding and never satisfied, alla Kentucky, Duke or even Illinois fans, then they can start looking for coaches every three or four years, no matter how many times they make the tournament. But if the fans are happy with a "mid-major" program accomplishing something that only a few privileged mid-majors can lay claim to (Gonzaga, SIU, Nevada), which is making the tournament as often as only the elite programs do, then I think it would be in their best interest to keep Altman around for as long as possible.

Altman knows he has to do better in the tournament, especially with teams like the one he had this year. But that doesn't give fans the excuse to get cocky. And for those who even think it may be time for Altman to move on, remember that they did play a hungry team this year, a team that may not always be in their position either. Call it bad luck or a bad draw, these things happen in the tournament. Creighton should still be proud of their season, and maybe a beefed-up non-conference schedule could make a difference between a 10 seed and a 4 seed in the future.
